Well I have had a major flare here today.....Yes I went to work too. It hit me right around 2pm I figure it has to be stress from the weekend with all the lightening did to our home. Well A good thing came of it.... appears the storm this am....Major wind and large fast downpours cause a breaker to go off. Mike (The Electrician, My husband) thinks a combo of it getting weak over time and the lightening striking so often caused it to trip. Anyway we now have a new breaker.... In his line of work you come on those Items , I guess going out there and cutting the breaker back on in the middle of a storm was, :yikes: :yikes: to say the least! And he found a surge protector for the whole house , goes on the pole where the box and breaker are. Soooo Maybe it won't take out everything again when the next storm hits. My plants all came thru this am storm except for two gladiolas....they are toast. But we were lucky again. Love to all Oma :bikecollision:

So sorry about the flare and I hope it's mostly over by now.

Glad you had some good come out of the storm experience though. *wink*

Oma,

I'm glad it wasn't any worse. You've had more than your fair share of trouble from thunderstorms, lately.

I'll bet that line of thunderstorms caught the weather forecasters all over the state, by surprise. I know I checked the forecast last night when I left work, about 8:30, and they were predicting dry weather for today. This morning, when that squall line was bearing down on us, we suddenly had an 80% chance of rain. LOL.

We only got about an inch of rain, but since the ground was already pretty well saturated from the rains over the weekend, (almost 5 inches), the creeks had a pretty good rise, this morning. I'm not sure if this is true all over the state, but if we get another four inches of rain this month, we will have a full year's "normal" rainfall total, with half a year to go, yet. In January, the long range weather forecast was calling for waaaaaaaaay below normal rainfall this spring, for most of the state. The weather clowns, (I mean the weather forecasters), never cease to amaze me with their incompetence. LOL.

Is your total rainfall for the year way above normal out there in West Texas, too?

Love,
Tex

"The weather clowns, (I mean the weather forecasters), never cease to amaze me with their incompetence. LOL.".............. you said a mouthful there, Tex.

I keep seeing the "weather" showing rain all over Florida, but I must be in "Passover Alley" or something. We finally did get a nice shower today but have been "passed over" 99% of the time.

I hope the excess rain in Texas is over. I feel so sorry for all those people.

Howdy...The weather forecasters job is the only job where you can be wrong 90% of the time and still keep your job. I think we are pretty up to date on the weather altho I haven't seen any reports so I am just guessing on amts.
We are ok...have already replaced the phone....satilite guy will come saturday and the food I will replace this weekend.
There's always good come out of a storm when you are alive and the house is still standing power or not Ha Ha! Ice box will wait awhile, too high dollar right now. But we are fine Love Oma
