My goodness, the peacock is lovely! I wonder what the tail feathers look like up close compared to the usual? Also, I wonder if he gets the "girls" easier as an albino peacock or if he has difficulty attracting a mate since he is different? Thank you for sharing..

PS - We had a hummingbird who had two sets of twins on our back porch in the same spot this year within 4 months from start to finish. The last baby left the nest 2 weeks ago, but one keeps coming back about 2-3 times a day to sit in the hanging candle holder where the nest was and sits there to look around! My avatar is a picture of the first set of twins.

I found this online about the Albino Peacock..." What is a peacock feather up close?
Each feather consists of thousands of flat branches. When light shines on the feather, we see thousands of glimmering colored spots, each caused by minuscule bowl-shaped indentations. Stronger magnification reveals microscopic lamellae (thin platelike layers) at the bottom of the indentations. Just like in butterfly wings, the regular pattern of the lamellas leads to interference phenomena and thus to iridescent colors. This principle is also responsible for varied colors of pheasants, birds of paradise and humming birds. The white color of this albino peacock is due to the missing black melanine pigment. The usual rich colors of the peacock are seen because black pigment which absorbs most of the incident light, allowing us to see only the interferece colors. In this peacock, the interference is still happening, but the effect is entirely washed out by the abundance of white light. In this albino, you can see that the "eyes" of the tail feathers are clear, not colored."
I do love my Hummingbirds dearly! I myself had never seen one until moving to AZ. We have lots of them around our home. They are brave birds who will come and hover right in front of your face sometimes. It is amazing how quickly they grow in that tiny little nest. The eggs are the size of a jelly bean yet they leave the nest in just a month. Each nest is only about 1" across by 1-1 1/2" deep on the outside yet two babies live and grow in that space. When you look at my avatar, remember those dimensions. I was video taping the second twins and about 20 mins into taping, one left th nest. It was amazing and unforeseen! He had flapped his litle wings a few times and had raised himself up above the nest and dropped back down on his sibling annoying the other and finally on the last try, he appeared to fall off the side but regained his wings and went up into a tree. I watched as he sat there and preened before he took off again into his new life. The other nestling stayed for 4 more days.
