It would be nice to have a separate room for nutritional information, like what to test for, which FORMS of vitamens and other things are the most absorbable, and which are free of what.
Come to think of it, it might also be nice to know which common "allergens" are included in commonly used medications by M.C.'rs. (Remember how Jean had to find out all this stuff, and see a compound pharmacist? well this would save time for those who are prescribed these same meds.)

Hi Lucy,
I have read with interest your suggestions on this topic. I think you are right about the need since so many of us take supplements. It is a relatively complicated topic but I would like to see you writing something on this topic that we can use in one of the rooms. You and Marsha have always seemed well read on this topic. I am not sure which room it should be in - perhaps a separate room for supplements/nutrition?
Love,
Karen

About how to do it..
I was thinking that we could perhaps start with Jean's experience with having to go to a compound pharmacist to get the basic ingredient without the additives that she was sensitive to, etc.
Since I'm really not on any medications, I've not had to use the compound pharmacist yet, but I do plan to ask one in our area who's out trying to drum up business now. Perhaps he could give me an idea about an intro to such a room.
I suppose we could divide the "meds and supplements" area into a prescribed meds/OTC meds "room" and a supplements room if we really wanted to be organized.
Even though I understand a few things about forms of things to take, I'm still a bit confused about how to get everything my body needs in terms of supplemental nutrition, in just the right balance.
Also, I do know where to find things that are pretty much free of "common allergens."
For example, I bought a cheaper WF brand (plastic bottle which I usually don't get, but hey, this was only Calcium/Magnesium, sooo..), and later read the post about the better form of Magnesium to take which wouldn't act like Milk of Magnesia. I'd really like to do a little MORE research on it than just this one site. Roni, was that you who posted that site back when we were talking about yuppies in healthfood stores? Ha!
It would take LOTS of research to put the whole thing together, that's for sure.
I'm going to ask my sis about those more detailed nutritional lab tests that we discussed the other day. For some reason, I'm thinking that they give ya back a comprehensive analysis of your nutritional status and maybe what you need to do to get things back to optimum/normal/whatever.
If that's the testing I'm thinking of, then my own experience with it might make for an excellent springboard to learn about the various more absorbable forms of things, and I could post them accordingly to the appropriate location.
Thanks. Yours, Luce
