Thanks, Tex. I pray that you are right! I'd like to get my weight up too. I look like a POW refugee.

I got a copy of the fructose breath test results.

Fasting 0 ppm
30 min. 0 ppm
60 min. 70 ppm
90 min. 74 ppm
120 min. 113 ppm
150 min 96 ppm
180 min 85 ppm

It says that the test is positive if at anytime after the fasting breath the score increases more than 20 ppm

I just talked to the dr. and he is calling in a 2 week script for diflucan. I will continue with the diet also. He doesn't think I will ever have a normal BM. He thinks I will just manage it.

Hmmm... I'm guessing this is hydrogen only or both together. Can you ask what exactly the numbers are?

I guess I don't know what you mean. These were the numbers that showed on the little machine when I blew into it. I have a copy of the paper that the tech wrote on when I did the test. These are the numbers. It was a hydrogen breath test. I drank fructose then blew into a machine at 30 minute intervals. These are the readings at those 30 minute intervals. What do you mean "both together".

Normally they are supposed to check hydrogen and methane as only testing one gas is useless for some folks as they may not produce hydrogen, but produce methane instead. And then there are strange folks like me who produce both.

Hmmm, according to this article methane testing is used for when someone has constipation:

I haven't even had a solid BM much less constipation in almost 8 years. I have the lactose test tomorrow and will quiz them
Thanks!

Methane can cause constipation and methane detection is found in folks who are constipated, but not all folks who produce methane are constipated. Heck I thought I was D all the time, it appears that I was incorrect, that I get C and it turns into D when it slows down too much and becomes toxic. Or so I'm guessing.

Interesting. We all have MC but it seems to work so differently for each one of us.
