Good Evening, friends
I have a little news for you - you've already read the title line but I recommend you pick up the August 2005 copy of Fitness magazine at the news stand and turn to page 64 for a full in depth article on Celiac Disease. Yes!! In a mainstream magazine geared toward women about fitness and health. The article is called: "Are these foods making you sick?" 4 pages of information; a case story.
There are references to Joseph Murray, M.D., a specialist in celiac disease at the Mayo Clinic and Alessio Fasano, M.D., founder of the Center for Celiac Research at the University of Maryland.
Isn't this great news?
I wish I could copy the article and post it here for you to read. Does anyone know of a way to do that? Wayne, do you think I can scan it and send it to you in an email so you can post it here?
Love,
Karen

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Good Morning, Wayne
Thank you - I'll try the scanning/emailing today from the store.
I hope you are feeling better after eliminating rice from your diet - bummer!! Your case is another one that makes the Paleo Diet seem like a very good idea. I hope you can keep eating potatoes since I know you love them so much and veggies are hard for you to handle. My own diet consists of veggies and meat with the addition of a little fruit and nuts but all starches have been eliminated. I don't know what I would do if veggies were a problem. W/o rice your gut may heal well enough that it will be ready for more vegetables?
