6 months now

Post by annie oakley »

Well dear family it's been 6 months since I quit smoking....have not cheated...have not picked a cigarette up or taken a drag off one. Not that I haven't wanted to a couple times....especially when FIL died last month. But I feel pretty good about it and wanted ya'll to know. I feel better for it....and feel that my lungs are still recovering from smoking. Hubby is good to smoke outside and NOT in my new truck. :star:

:star: :star: :star: For YOU OMA!!!

I'm REALLY proud of you!! I know it's one of the hardest things to do AND you did it with your husband still smoking. I don't think I could have if Bill hadn't quit also. To be honest, I'm scared to death he will start again and then I know I'm a goner. It's was a year last January. Doesn't seem possible it's been that long.

I'm so happy you DID IT!!

Miss Herb Lady

What wonderful news you are spreading tonight  I am in awe at your will power. As we say YOU GO, GIRL

Your name, Herb Lady, makes me smell rosemary and sage when I read it - I can't believe you've been a smoker; that just plain stinks, doesn't it. I prefer the herb aroma - wish your husband would feel inspired by your example; maybe he secretly works on a plan to quit?

Again, Three Cheers for you Oma, you ROCK!

Love,
Karen

P.S. And you ROCK too, Shirley. Hats off for you two!!

Oma,

To what do you attribute your success?
I've heard that this is one of the absolute hardest things to do?

Yours, Luce

YAY, OMA!!!!!

Did it have any effect on your MC? I have been afraid to start quitting because I have heard that nicotine actually helps slow down the D.

New truck, huh? YOWZZIE!!! What kind?

Lots of love,

Sally

smoking

I quit smoking February 2004 - and consequently my MC symptoms started the very same week.

And I STILL don't regret quitting. Not ONE day in my life.

Congratulations Oma! I want to quit too. I am thinking the last week in July is a good target date. I will be in California visiting my sis for 5 days and never smoke when I am there...I need to just quit then! Did you use the patch? Gum? You are an inspiration!

Oma,

That is wonderful! :flowersmiley:

I smoked for a long time, and quit slowly 10 yrs ago. I couldn't do it all at once, made me too angry!

My dad died of a lung disease and that was a very good prompt to do it though. To you!

You Go GIRL!

I wish I had your willpower! I have smoked since I was 15 and have tried many times to quit = until I light the next one! (short-term willpower, huh!)

I think that is awesome and applaude anyone who is able to quit!

Wow, great job! I've never had a habit of smoking so I don't know how hard it is personally, but I've seen family struggle with it and so it seems very difficult to stick to. You have the power now!

AWESOME! That is fabulous Oma! You should be very proud of yourself. Speaking from experience..quitting smoking is quite a feat!

When I got preggo with Morgan I quit cold turkey. It was the hardest thing I have EVER done!

Big hugs!
