Happy Sunday All!
I'm having the best day! Just relaxing on the deck with coffee and the crossword puzzle. The sun is shining, a breeze is caressing me, and life is good!
We went downtown to watch the fireworks finale last night and didn't get home until quite late. This year Canada, Spain, and China competed over the last Wed., Sat., then Wed. again. Canada won this year The show was awesome! All three countries put on a show last night, with music simulcast on a local radio station. We got together with friends that live on the eighth floor of a downtown highrise and had a wonderful potluck dinner before the show. Of course there was much drink to be had as well.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Well, I was having the best day!
I almost blew up the kitchen making dinner. It's the first time I've made porcupine meatballs and used a pressure cooker. My wonderful husband (who uses it all the time) neglected to give me instructions as to how to open the damned thing once the meal was ready. I took off the little silver cap and steam started forcing itself out the little hole. Ron comes flying in from the deck screaming my name as I'm putting the stupid thing back on. I learned, after the fact, you have to let it cool on it's own, or run cold water on the pot forcing it to cool to get rid of the pressure.
I think I may have just missed some pretty serious injury, and even more serious clean up with turkey burger, tomatoe sauce, and rice all over the kitchen. Hmmm, I don't think I'll be making that dish again!
I think I'll move on to something safer - like reading a book!

WOW, Peg........... I do believe you did have a close call!!! I've always been nervous using a pressure cooker and haven't used one much. They can give you some serious burns when things go wrong, besides some serious messes.
So glad you weren't hurt.
