Can not get my butt in gear this AM
Work has gone from bad to worse. My boss and I are going to "group therapy" to work out our differences. I almost wish he'd just fire me. I can't do anything right in his eyes, and I'm so tired of trying. I sit here trying to write reports and just stare at the blank computer screen because I don't know what to do. And yet, I'm not doing anything I haven't been doing for over 12 years now. He never told me, but the reason he went from relying on me as the #2 person in the office to being on my case all the time came out in our first counseling session and apparently he thinks I'm not commited to excellence. Well, how the hell does one counter that? I responded back that I'm damn good and what I do and I do damn good work. I don't know how I can get better. And he hasn't been able to give me specifics that I need to improve on. Makes me feel like I'm horrible at everything. I feel like things are spiraling out of my control.

Oh Katy, what a drag! Maybe he has some other issues that are non work-related and he's making the mistake of bringing them to the office? I wish I had some sage advice I could give you, short of just doing your best I don't know what else you can do? I hope you find a resolution soon...seeing as we spend a great deal of our waking hours at work, it's always nice if we can enjoy it, at least some...

I really doubt his real reason for being on your case so much has come out yet. He's awfully vague about the whole thing. Either he is ashamed of his reason or he is so "sc***ed up" he doesn't even know himself.
I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

Morning Katy,
It sounds like the boss from hell and I really think he needs to address his own issues and forget about putting all the blame on you. Keep doing the job you do and things will work out for the best.
