NucMed today
I had my nuclear med test today....45 mins strapped on a table that went into an x-ray machine. They put radioactive isotopes in my blood and watched my kidneys. Half way through, they gave me IV meds to stimulate my kidneys...I couldn't make it the last 3 mins...had to almost didn't make it in time...close call! Oh, and they made me drink a huge glass of water before the test! Yesterday, I had the pre-op appt....I'm ready fr surgery! TTFN...JJ

Thanks for all the well wishes! I am looking forward to this being done!
I will keep you posted.....JJ
PS I met with the new HR person at my old job and the pay-out of my sick days IS based on my 60% job last year. They unofficially suggested that I write a letter to the Head of School. Stay tuned...JJ

JJ,
I'm heading off for the beach again for a few days but wanted to wish you all the best on Wed. I know surgery is no fun. I will be thinking of you and sending my best healing thoughts and vibes across the country, kay?

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
Thanks so much Polly and.... everyone else who has given me great support through all of this. On top of everything else, I went to Urgent Care today because of a swollen and painful lymph node in my neck...ouch! The pain started spreading to my ear and teeth and I said enough of this....the doc gave me antibiotics and said it is infected....I am falling apart! This too shall pass...TTFN...JJ
Jill,
That's adding insult to injury - more of the old "when it rains, it pours", routine. I hope it clears up fast.
Is your surgery still scheduled for tomorrow? If so, I hope everything goes smoothly, and your recovery doesn't take very long.
Hugs,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Oh Jill-
I *so* hear you on the "falling apart" thing! It is very frustrating, isn't it? I think it's harder to take if you have been a healthy person most of your life - really throws you for a loop, mentally!
I just tell myself "these things are all treatable/fixable and will soon be behind me!"
Best of luck tomorow!
