Raining and flaring

Post by annie oakley »

We have gotton 3 and 1/2 inches in two days here. And it looks like it is fixin to hit again. One good thing is I don't have to water the plants....just hope they don't float away. Could be worse huh? And it is so very hot and stickey like humid right now. :attention: Has anyone else gotton any rain??
I ususally watch what I eat and avoid gluten.....Mike was working this Morning and I decided I go out to eat before I went to get Groceries :bandevil: I had Scrambled eggs hash browns and bacon. I went and bought food and made the 15 min trip home, got all put away when it hit me. Major flare!! :toilet3: :yikes: :yikes: I don't even knoe if it was the food....I eat an egg now and then with no problems and even a small amt of bacon, and here lately I have had some stuff goin on with Mike :Itchscratch: and with SIL :shithead: :BSFlag: and some at work :hammerhead: and it has put me on a emotional rollercoaster. I have been slightly depressed on top of it. So I guess I need to do a food diary for a few days. I have taken some Imodium and will see what happens. I guess I will eat light this evening and see what comes of it. I have been so good so I kind of think it's the emotional stuff that I am putting up with. I have an appt with a new Doctor the 27th and may ask for some VALIUM!!!! Any way I will check back later. Love Oma

Awe, Oma! I sure hope you settle down soon. I understand the stress and fare-ups. I've been under tremendous stress the last couple of days and and a run to the bathroom today. Luckily, it was a short-lived, one-run deal (so far)!

I hope you don't float away out there - you're going to have to build an ark soon!

Lots of hugs and warm feelings coming your way!

Love,
Mars

Hi Oma,

I hope you're feeling better soon. It sounds like you've got way too many things going on, right now. Maybe you can develop a :whatever: attitude, to help get you through it.

We only got 85 hundredths of an inch of rain out of this tropical depression, before it headed up to your part of Texas, but a lot of people down in Gillespie county, southwest of here, had as much as 11 inches, a couple of nights ago. I'm glad we missed that.

Love,
Tex

And Tex I have already started on the whatever thing. Abilene where we went today for Mikes Birthday was flooding in places. We were't too close to the flooding. We ate and got out of there. Love Oma

Hello Oma
Hope it all settles down soon. with a bit of luck it will be just something that you ate.

We have finally gotten a bit of rain here too. Not enough to break the drought & fill the dams but enough that our new water tank has something in it at last. It has eased now but they forecast rain again on Wednesday to last for a couple more days. What we had was only gentle showers for a day or so but we need some good soaking rain, a couple of inches at least.

I suppose that we should be grateful for small mercies though. Most everything in my garden is looking dead or dying, except the fruit trees that have been getting washing, bath & shower water. The bananas are looking pretty brown though. They will just have to fend for themselves along with everything else in the yard. They have been getting heaps of rain down south & also in the north of the state but we just seemed to be missing out every time. Even on the last couple of days the major falls were south of us in the Brisbane area & Northern New South Wales.

:xfingers: that we get our fair share next time.

Love

Liz,

Now that you've had a taste of rain, maybe it will get going, and rain enough to really do some good - I hope so, anyway. It's so frustrating to have to sit and watch while the rains continue to fall somewhere else. Here in Texas, traditionally, as soon as the rain stops, the next drought starts - but as you know, we've had an unprecedented wet streak this year.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, too.

Love,
Tex

We've been very dry this summer. Had some wonderfully beautiful blue skys and all out of it, but I'm afraid they'll start claiming drought if we don't get some more rain soon. But so far the vegetation looks okay. Have to water a few of my plants that don't like it so dry, but a lot of mine are pretty hardy even in dry weather. And our lawn is still growing a pace. Our natural soils hold moisture pretty well once it does rain but drain enough that they aren't saturated, which plants don't like either.

HOpe you're feeling better Oma. I've been under a lot of stress this summer too, and it definately affects the gut so even the slightest indescretions on eating are a problem.

Relaxed a bit this weekend (around school shopping for the girls) and went fishing. Caught a 12-inch bass. Threw him back though because I don't eat fish.

Stress can definately worsen any symptoms you may have. DO you try yoga at night? I know it is very hard to calm down when there are so many things to worry about- but it is important you try. I do my best but still need ativan (at a small dose a day).

It might have been the hash browns because they are fried in oil- those kind of things usually get me on the thrown for a bit.

Speaking of rain; this has been the rainiest season in Flagstaff AZ for quite some time. Usually from july 4- labor day it rains every day for about 45 mins. But this season it has rained for days at a time. Everything is so green... iti s hard to believe it is AZ.
