It's been a while since I've posted--have been lurking some, but haven't had much time to write. Now that the summer swim season is over (I ran the team--150 swimmers!) and the kids are back in school, I actually have some time to myself...it's quite heavenly...
Things are status quo with me. I'm still taking Endocort (3 mg/3x day)and Colazol (750 mg/6 a day) with no changes. I'm a bit frustrated, but I also haven't been eating a great diet lately--too much dairy, which I know is a problem, and too much chocolate (is there such a thing?!), which I also suspect is a problem. Dr. Lewey would like me to do a food sensitivity test, but apparently it's about $500 and I just am having trouble spending that kind of money. Maybe I subconciously don't want to know the results?
The kids are all doing fabulous on their GF diets--they have adjusted VERY well, never complain, and we have no more issues--no more diarrhea, no more tummy aches, no more headaches, etc, so that part of it is very well worth the trouble.
It's fun to watch and listen to what is happening with everyone--still trying to catch up on all the news!

Hiya Wendy--well cudos to U for the fun( and I bet is was ) of keeping your eyes open on all those swimmers--
Was this a volunteer thing ---have U done it before??
The kids go back to school early---here they go back the first Wednesday after Labor Day---
I always remember when our kids started back--me and galfriend would sit --on the front steps--and smile --- --as U said--*it was a heavenly feeling*
Great to hear about the kids getting happily adjusted with GF diet--and NOW its your turn~~~
Im sure U will get yourself back on the good eating road--and that is a quite a bit of $$$$ for the test---
Once U get back to your diet hopefully things will re-adjust for U---and
there is NO SUCH THING AS TO MUCH CHOCOLATE --well thats if it doesnt LIKE U~~~~
Nice to see U back----and wishing U good results when U get yourself back to your diet--
Sometimes--being we all so different---the meds U R taking might need more time to give U that *good feeling*---How long is it now that U have been taking them----???
Colazol worked for me---but Endocort worked against me---
Take care and hope to see U poppin in more often--
Barbara

Hi Wendy,
It's good to see you posting again. That's a heck of a note, that the Entocort hasn't yet brought remission. I don't know what to make of that.
Wow! Thats really an impressive story about your kids' success with the diet. It doesn't get any better than that, does it.
Congratulations on your work with the swim team. That had to take a lot of time and dedication.
$500 does seem like a lot to spend, for information that you can get very economically, by means of a food elimination diet.
Now that your stress level is winding down, (as school resumes), maybe the Entocort will begin to show results.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
