Good news for a change.........

Post by Mars »

HI everyone!

Many of you know that we have been going through a rough time with our home which brought on many other problems. We are now about 30 days or so from having to move and start over.

Yesterday, I took the day off to spend some time with Larry to drive around and try to find a new home to rent. Buying was NOT an option right now.

To try and make a long story shorter..........I had been told about a house a few months ago that would fit our needs/requirements (i.e., fenced yard, out buildings, close to work, etc.) The family had the house for sale but we knew quite a few in the family who told us to call and let them know if they didn't sell the home that we would be interested in renting it. I did that and just blew it off because we hadn't heard from them in the last 2 months.

Well..............yesterday we received a call and they asked us if we would like to go see the home. YipEE - we went and looked and talked, and looked and talked. Result..............We will be BUYING the home on a land installment - assuming the mortgage. They called an attorney to draw up the papers so everyone will be protected.

It is a small house with an acre of land, fenced back yard, a large polebarn/garage, another shed for lawnmowers, etc, a pool with a deck, a deck around the front and side of the house, central air and wood burner. The furnace, water heater, roof, windows, foundation, pole barn and wood burner are new. The inside has been completely redone with new walls and flooring too. It is in move-in condition. They will be leaving the window coverings, floor rugs, fridge and stove. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!

Best of all, the payments are less than we are paying now for a house with much, much less!!!!

I can't believe that things fell into place so nicely!

We are spending the holiday weekend boxing things up at our house and going through things to down-size somewhat. We will be busy but it will be with a better mood. I was sooooooooo dreading this.

Sunday we will be helping my FIL put new doors on his garage and having a cook out. Busy, busy.

Thanks for listening..........I feel so much better now. Things are starting to move forward - finally.

Love to you all,
Mars

Wow, Mars!

That is good news! And what a surprise. It doesn't get much better than that, does it.

I have to say that I was feeling depressed after reading your initial post about this issue, but now I'm grinning from ear to ear. I'll bet you and Larry feel as though the weight of the world has been lifted from your shoulders. Bad situations do sometimes work out for the best, don't they. Congratulations on finding a terrific solution.

Love,
Tex

Mars,

I am thrilled for you and Larry. House sounds great and it is so nice to hear something good happening for both of you. You have had your share of downs lately and this is just such a boost.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Love, Maggie

Thanks everyone! We are soooooo excited!!!!

They threw a monkey-wrench into the mix this weekend (downpayment) but we counter-offered and they called this morning at 7:00 am and accepted the offer!!!!

We should be moving between the end of September and the middle of October. It's an assembly-line thing - 3 homes and 3 families involved. One moves out the others move in!!! Everyone is in a rush to move so we will all be busy!

We have been downsizing the household items and packing things around the house. It is so much easier to pack when you know you are going somewhere you are excited about.

Thanks again for all your good wishes!

Love,
Mars
