Update on my brother
They are pretty sure the body they found is my brother. Darryl spoke to the sheriff and found that a friend dropped Chad off near Seaside to go camping for a few days. He had made himself a tent out of a tarp and was found inside a sleeping bag. He had been there since late May. No foul play or drug over dose suspected. It looks like he went peacefully, just went to sleep and didn't wake up. Of course we won't know the exact cause of death due to the decomposition. They found his UT ID, Soc Sec card and a notebook. We still have to wait for a couple of weeks to get the dental record match for confirmation. My dad is taking care of all the costs for Chad to be creamated. That is what he wanted. Darryl and I will go to Astoria to get his ashes and belongings when they are ready.
I think most of you know that my brother had a meth problem. He took some $ from my dad and we thought that he was "not wanting to be found" I never considered that he was dead. I feel terrible that he was all alone. I have always taken care of him but wasn't able to help when he needed me most.
I tried to go to work today but wasn't ready so came back home. That is all I know for now once we get his ID confirmed I will let you know. Thanks so much for all of your love and support. It means the world to me.
Hugs

So sorry...
I'm so sorry to hear about your brother, but L don't beat yourself up! You are in no way responsible for his death or the circumstances surrounding his death in any way. You may not of been there physically, but I am sure you were with him in spirit. Sometimes the hardest thing is letting go of things over which we have no control. You did for your brother more than most.
You & your family are in our thoughts & prayers.
Love,
Moose

Dear Lori,
It would be a wonderful thing if we could be all that we want to be to those we love. Sorrowfully, sometimes they won`t let us.
I feel sure he knew somewhere deep in his heart that all of you loved him, no matter what, and I hope that gives you all some comfort.
You and your family will still be in my prayers for a long time to come.
Love, Carol

Dear Lori,
I am so saddened to hear the outcome and pray that he went peacefully as you said. He loved you and of that you should be sure. You did all you could for him. A meth problem is not an easy road to walk but I am sure he is more at peace now.
My prayers go out to you and your family.
Love, Maggie

Lori, I have no doubt that you did all you could for your Chad. Sometimes our best efforts seem to be far short of what we would wish. I'm sure Chad knew you loved him and cared what happened to him. You aren't responsible for decisions he made. I hope you can remember that.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.............
Love, Shirley

Dear Lori
I'm so sorry to hear about your Brother. My sympathy goes out to you and your family at this hard time.
Just know you didn't do anything wrong and please don't blame yourself. We always tend to do that when these things occur and look for a rhyme or reason, but there is none.
I'm sure Chad knew in his heart that his family loved him, just not the path he chose.
