I have a QUESTION---

Post by barbaranoela »

Saturday---a very hot and humid day, we went to Lynns (lou did some repairs) and then we went to a street fair---

I stayed for 10 minutes cus the *heat* really got to me and I felt *sick*
Had a lousy night----sweating again and etc---but always drinking--

When I left my house I was weighing 119---this morning I weighed in @ 115???? This never happened to me---Losing 4 lbs. ??

Is it possible that the loss of weight was from dehydration during those few minues walking around???

Today I am totally miserable---headaches again and alll day-sweats --and feeling totally like a limp wet noodle??

Naturally I am a bit *nervous* cus I never ever had this happen to me-

IS IT THIS THYROID PLAYING GAMES???

Thanks much---
Barbara

Hi Barb....That would definatly be a question I would be asking my doctor on Monday. With My second round of menopause....I can be outside for a few minutes and fell nauseated, min however is releated to the big M. I hope you find out what's going on soon. My sister has hyper thiroidism and is losing alot of wieght too. Maybe Polly can answer that for you. Love Oma
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance

Hi Barbara,

It sounds as though you may have been a victim of heat exhaustion. Whenever I've been in that same situation, I've usually felt cruddy the next day, too. You may be low on some of your electrolytes, which could certainly cause you to feel the way you do.

Sure, you could have lost four pounds to dehydration in a short time. Probably, though, you lost some of it at the fair, and you lost the rest of it during your other "sweating" sessions. Water weighs approximately eight and a half pounds per gallon, so you only have to be about two quarts low, to lose four pounds.

I hope you're feeling better by now. If not, some Gaterade, or Pedialyte might help you to feel better.

Luve,

Yup, I'm guessing the heat and humidity got to you. Although if you aren't feeling better today, call the doc. Did NY get the cooling rain northern New England got yesterday? What a relief it was up here. I was drooping and feeling cruddy on Saturday (I've got a nice sinus thing going right now to not help anything) but perked up a bit yesterday because it did cool off.

thanks for the response--Katy and Galahad

I kinda thought it was dehydration---but to lose 4 pounds really got me nervous---and today I am feeling better----

Gatorade/Pedialyte are stacked in my closet----I was drinking the Gator. and thats why I couldnt understand the dehydration issue!!!

And I am gonna smack Louigi too  his favoite conclusion is *AGE*

KATY---no rain------and it is so damn hot---I very seldom sleep with the AC but U better believe it has been running all day and night--

Have a good day guys---
