Surgery tomorrow

Post by JJ »

Hi all...I have my surgery tomorrow and will be in the hospital overnight. Hopefully, coming home on Tuesday. I have friends and family pitching-in to care for me and my International kids...my sis and neighbor are great. I also have people from my old school bringing me lunch this week! I am so hungry right now, I almost started to knaw on the coffee table. I am slamming down life savers right now...no food or drink after midnight....I have been on a clear diet today...yuck...jello, broth and life savers! And of course had to drink Magnesium Citrate....is that what it's called? Spent the afternoon in the loo.....everytime, the phone started ringing  ....people have been calling to wish me well.....hahaha...I'll check-in on Tuesday.....TTFN...JJ

Jill-

Best of luck to you for an uneventful surgery and speedy recovery!! I've found the anticipation of surgery to be much worse than the actual procedure/recovery - your mind goes to all sorts of scenarios, causing needless stress and worry...

Here's to smooth sailing

Jill,

I'm wishing for a perfect operation, and rapid recovery, with a minimum of pain. We'll be waiting for your update.

I'm home! The surgery took longer that they thought....1-5PM...then recovery for an hour and a half or so....I finally got oatmeal for breakfast yesterday.. ....I did not enjoy my vacation in the hospital! What a zoo! ...I was released and my sis hauled me home in the afternoon and brought dinner later....I am resting in bed most of the time and can't drive for 2 weeks! They cut out the blockage and sewed it back together...I have 5 holes in my tummy...sore and swollen, but not too painful. I am taking Levaquin...they warned me that this may cause D....oh well...I also have a stint in that will be removed in 4 weeks or so.... I am OK and am on the mend...TTFN...JJ

Jill,

Thanks for the update, and I'm glad you're doing so well. Wow - with five holes, they must have been pretty busy working in there. I hope your recovery goes smoothly.
