Still not feeling well

Post by thedell19 »

I think I may be in a little flare- each morning my stomach has been upset and I have had very soft BMs that pretty much fall apart in the bowl (even when using imodium) and they are usually very smelly. But usually by afternoon I feel better.

I am thinking it could be a couple of things:

1. Our dog is taking 2 kinds of medication that may have gluten in it??
2. Stress because our dog is sick? and stress at work
3. A flare

I think I may start my probiotics again and set up and apt with my regular DR to see if he will give me a script for Entocort.

Any ideas? Should I change my diet while I am having troubles?
Dr Fine test shows positive for gluten and casien but negative for soy, eggs, and yeast
Maybe its UC maybe its MC? Who knows at this point, but at least I know my intollerances now... so heres to the road to healing!

Hi Andrew------STRESS~~~~~~~ that culprit we cannot get rid of--

I would imagine---the stress is part of your flare---

For I minute I thought U were taking your dogs meds/gluten-- :mallet: --until I read 2 and 3~~~~~ :bigbighug:

Easy to say---let things *roll by* see how U do the next few dayz---maybe U will settle down---and U wont need the MEDS.
Anyway whats going on @ work--if I might ask???

Take care---and try to keep a smile--

Hey Barb-

Yeah that would be kinda funny if I were taking my dogs medication!! Maybe I should clear it up by saying could I get glutened from giving my dog his medication and then washing my hands afterwards?

My Aunt says dont stress the small things because they are the small things... but I always think of it as all the small things will eventually build up into one huge problem or something.

At work we are in the middle of 5 audits. We are half done with them but everytime the auditors are here you do what you have to for them while trying to do your normal work... And then it makes the head of accounting a little stressed as well and when other people are stressed or mad I always think they are going to take it out on me.

Part of my anxiety probably stems from my childhood because my mom was usually stressed and or mad which in turned stressed me out and I eventually learned to stress about the same things she does... Like mother like son.

I do feel that I need to slow down and maybe stress is a big part of what is going on- I am already taking ativan for my anxiety and I sure hope I dont have to raise dosages because I am at a small dose (1mg per day) and I dont want to get into the higher dosages when you really have to worry about addiction.

I should probably start to get more activity outside but it is starting to get cold here!

Andrew----U said like MOTHER like SON---- and I will say for myself---Like MOTHER like Daughter

But Andrew it is our *make-up* and I am sure U try not to follow the worries ---but somehow they just creep inside of you----
Lou always says to me---*barbara U are just like your mother* --
I am--I am---

I can surely understand the work *stress* issue----but deep down U know U R doing your job--and your work shows it-- sad to say that some
employers can really pass the buck---but keep ya confidence *in check*-
All easy to say--but U can do it~~~~~ U can be Andrew---like the person U are --know the person U R and U can shine like a star~~~~

And Hello to Mrs. Andrew too----

Hi Andrew....I too had a mother that was either mad or stressed but we learned later that she was bi-polar....didn't have a name for it when I was growing up, we just dealt with it and sometimes we just kept it inside because of the repercusions involved. Mother was a bit abusive emotionally as well. My Sister and I learned (later in life ) to stop the cycle she created or which may have started with her mother. I will have a flare if I eat the wrong stuff...Like today. I decided that the lure of Popeye's chicken was too much for me today. :bricks: I have paid the price this evening. This too I shall label as a huge NO NO! This will go down in my book of bad foods for me :mallet: I am back on yogurt , apple sauce and green tea for a couple days. It helped alot when I was diagnosed. I hope your flare calms down soon....By the way, Maybe you are getting some contamination from the dogs meds. Take care and feel better Oma
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance

Hey Barb and Oma-

It is amazing how we do learn and pick up things from the people who surround us early in life. I remember not wanting to get off the school bus alot of days- but I have to say that as much problems my mom and I had early in life our relationship is back to where it should be. I think it really helps to move out on your own and really see what life is... then you appreciate the smaller things. My mom and I are much better and I am happy to say that.

I know my mom (who takes Pxil every day) got her anxiety from her mom. I hope not to pass it onto my kids-- I dont really show sadness, anger, frustration very much around people so I really need an outlet... and I had one during baseball season so now I need to start lifting light weights or something.

Yes work is stressful and now on top of it all the head of accounting just put in her resignation and for the 10 months I have been here I think they depend too heavily upon her. Now when she leaves I really dont know what is going to happen. (the 3rd accountant just started 1 month ago and is still raw). So that adds up- but I want to look at this like a great opportunity to learn more about government accounting and possibly move up a bit. I like my job- but I dont like doing 2 people's jobs let alone 3!

So I think I will make an appointent with my GP DR and see what he thinks about maybe upping the ativan a bit? Get a new outdoor activity program... maybe get that entocort?

It happened to me too, Barbara...

I am glad you are not taking the dog´s meds, Andrew

Jokes apart. I use to change my diet when I have a flare.
A softer one can help digest better + try to rest more and to avoid stress (as much as possible... I know it is difficult)

Take care,
Love,
Tessa
