Hospital--me

Post by barbaranoela »

Well, this morning @ 3a.m. I fell down the second flight of stairs---
What happened I dont know---all of a sudden the 5 steps went out from under me ---and my ass--and lower back hit each and every step--
When I got to the bottom---I stood up and was thankful that I could move---but with such pain----
I woke L. and we went to the hospital---tis now 6PM and we got home an hour ago--

Did a CAT----and I have 2 compressed fractures --L1 and L4---and I thought I knew pain!!!! OMG---this is torture

They dripped morphine to ease the pain but now I am on Oxicondon for this pain---took one pill and I was flying higher than a kite---NOT a very good feeling---tomorrow we see the orthopedic---and he is taking his own set of Xrays and I shall discuss this pain med with him--

There must be something easier on the system---

PIPPI---so wanna combine together and call us the TRAPPED- EASED COUZINS
At least U fly thru the air----I keep closer to the ground!! :crutches: :bricks:

Sooooo----our visit to Carol and George is called off again---they must think so poorly of us for all the times we had to cancel---
Turkey Day is going to be without me and gramps------

And now, after all these hours @ the hospital I am off to MY BED~~~

Once again---a very WELLNESS :happyturkeyday: to one and all--

luve Barbara---

So sorry to read this. 2 fractured vertebrae--aaack. I wonder what position is going to be comfortable for you, if any. I'm thinking sitting won't be too good. At least you've got a good :nurse: in Mr. Luigi, right?

Hope you will find a way to be in less pain, but not :flyingdoveleft: on the meds.

Wow Barb! I am so sorry you had this accident. I hope you find a comfortable place and position to sleep. My grandson had a hard time when he had the comprssion fractures with the vetebrae. You have a good pain killer there Barb. Maybe your doc could give you sone pain patches, they last longer. I have some for when the fibro and arthritis act up together, Take it barbara Love Oma

Barbara,

That's a real bummer. I'm glad it wasn't worse, but it was certainly bad enough. That's probably not going to help the problem you're having with the sciatic nerve, either.

I hope you can find a way to rest and recuperate.

Dear Barbara,

I was so saddened to hear about the fall and with everything you already have on your plate, this just takes the :birthdaycakecandles: (Best I could find for a cake!).

Remember when I did a flight of stairs back at the old house and lucily only tore ligaments, tendons and had a very bad sprain. You definitely are not so lucky and I do hope you can find a position that makes you comfortable and that the ortho doc has a real plan and better meds.

So sorry you will miss you visit with Carole and Thanksgiving with the family. I am sure Lou will be the perfect nurse.

Love, Maggie

Oh no, Sis,

That is the pits. What a bummer. I hope the pain is manageable and that the fractures heal quickly. Please take good care of yourself. Is Lou waiting on you?

Lots of love and a big gentle hug :bigbighug:
