Hi Everyone,
I followed up with the eye specialist today and was given that diagnosis along with the same ole, same ole with my eyes. The swelling has gone down but the burning/gritty feeling and dry eyes that water constantly is still there. He said that when you have the floopy eye syndrome, your eyes don't close all the way when sleeping, causing dry eyes. He asked which side I slept on because the eye that is down is usually the worst. Yep - he got me.
I have a new RX and am to use Genteal PM ointment which will keep the eyes more moist during the night. We shall see.
He also asked if I had had my thyroid checked lately. Will consider an order next visit on the 20th of this month.
Any input or thoughts on why he would ask that?
Love,
Mars

Hi Mars,
I hope the ointment helps. He could be onto something with the comment about thyroid issues. Some people with thyroid problems have a related autoimmune eye condition. Here's a brief description:

There seems to be a pretty strong connection between MC and thyroid issues.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Mars,
Autoimmune stuff again, it seems to leach all over the map in our bodies and MC may be a strong link or generator. Here's the most up to date info I found on what your Doc thinks your problem is.

Hope you find relief with the eye cream and you get a good nights rest.
Do I recall right that you also have had sleep problems problems in the past?
Love,
Joanna

Hi Joanna!!!
Yep, sleep problems stuck around for awhile but have seemed to resolve itself. I sleep more than usual on the weekends. My nights are usually about 5 3/4 hours per night and work an 81/2 hour day and repeat the same thing 5 days in a row!
Whew - make myself tired just thinking of it!
How are you?
