Update on my daughter

Post by Umber »

What stress! Her surgery lasted close to 3 hours. We were a wreck!

Surgeon said the surgery went well but couldn't find where the bleeding was coming from. He thought maybe the stint so took it out along with a blood clot. Her temp dropped during the surgery so she was in recovery and shaking like a leaf. They are also giving her electrolites that she lost during surgery. She looks terrible, pale and her eyes are sunken in. She is getting a blood transfusion this evening. Doc said she should start to feel better after that.

Kylee is hungry so I better get back to business.

I told Ash that you have been asking and thinking about her. She said to tell you that you all are so sweet and thank you!

Hugs

Lori

Thanks for the update Lori. What an awful, unexpected few days your family has had.

Glad the doc thinks that Ashley should begin to feel better soon. What an awful experience!

I'll continue to send good vibes her way - tomorrow is a new day - she'll be her ole self in no time!

Hugs to you - sleep well tonight!

Hi Lori,

Having just gone through a transfusion myself, I bet that will help her feel better. Even though I still feel a bit icky, the lightheaded and muscle achy feelings are gone for the most part.

Hope Ashlee feels better soon.

Oh Geesh, you must be an absolute wreck, Lori. I hope the stent/blood clot are the answer. How scary. Hopefully Ashlee will feel much better by tomorrow. It's good that she is so young and basically healthy to have to go through all of this trauma. But I sure wish she didn't have to. You too. Am waving that magic wand furiously in the direction of Beaverton. And hoping and praying too.

Lots of love,

Polly

Thanks for the update Lori. My goodness when the rain comes down it sure starts to pour. Give Ashley my love and a big hug, one for Kylee too. I remember when I was in the hospital for about 10 when Mel was about Kylee's age, boy when I came home it was so dramatic. Mel was in my mothers arms and started to wimper, and held her arms out to me, then grabbed hold of my mom again and wimpered then started to full out cry and put her arms out to me, and well I was crying by that time too. When she came to me, she held on for dear life. After that if I was at my mom's and left the room she would start to cry and come after me, no matter what she was doing. She didn't want me out of her sight at all. And I missed her just as much. Did you get to take Kylee in to see her mom? They didn't allow it when I was in, but that was about 21 years ago too. Take care of them both, I always love it when you send me the latest pictures of how Kylee is growing. She is just such a bright and sunny, happy beautiful little lady, you can tell she would be fun to have around. But my time is coming, being that I am a gramma to be this Feb. They figured out the time of birth approximately, since Amanda did not have a period at all, since I think it was December. She was still taking the diabetic pills, and then the fertility pills, she had to take them around the time she would have her period, even if she didn't have one. AND she has the first baby picture now, as of Friday they have a picture of the little sac showing the heart beating away. Talk about going off topic. But I am so glad that Ashley is okay, being under that long is really going to wear her out for some time. And it also leaves not only the pain from the surgery, but you develop aches a pains in places you never had them before. I have been told that is something to do with the meds they give you to keep you asleep.

So much love and hugs to all.

Yes, Wendy....we have taken Kylee to see Mom every day. You can tell when she needs a Mommy fix, she starts acting out.

Ashlee should come home today. Doc wants to see how she does after lunch and if all is well.....she comes home. We finally got her to agree its best for her to stay with us for awhile. Morgan will be here to help until I get home from work then I can take over.

Kylee is such a little sponge....her mom is going to die when she sees how she has started to eat......I will put it this way.....a little too much time watching Lexie!

She will probably have a hard time once she get home with just mom. She has had the three of us giving her constant attention and play time. Our little princess of the house and I have loved every minute of it...even the tantrums!

Love and Hugs!
