Best of luck this "nips it in the bud". As a fellow "frequent flier" in the outpatient surgery department, I feel your frustration with a lingering issue...

Fix it right, be done with it, move on, is my mantra...

Take it easy and rest up - I imagine sinus surgery is pretty painful (?) I can't imagine that it *wouldn't* be...

Well, aren't y'all just the sweetest thangs??? What a pleaseant to surprise to log on and find your good wishes.

So far am doing OK - trying to be really positive and as Mary said, just be done with it and move on. Of course, I am now having D - never fails when I am majorly stressed. Sure hope I don't poop on the OR table! LOL! And I can't take any meds tomorrow AM - not even a Lomotil. It's NPO after midnight and surgery is at 9:45 AM. Oh, it will be so good to have it behind me.........

Thinking about you Polly and hope all goes well with the surgery.

Wonder if your MC has just been looking for a way to rear it's ugly head again after being at bay for so long? I also had chronic sinus problems a couple years prior to my CC DX. No fun!

Hi All,

Well, all of your good wishes must have helped! I survived the surgery.

It took 2 and 1/2 hours! And despite the longer time under general anesthesia, I feel even better than last time. Only problem today is a stiff neck and sore throat. Once again, I have no sinus pain whatsoever - this has got to be the best ENT doc in the world! Don't even have any bloody nasal discharge like last time. I feel terrific! Can't believe it - felt the same way yesterday immediately upon awakening in the recovery room and figured it was due to all the IV meds they gave me (steroid, morphine, anti-nausea, etc), but they should all be worn off today. WAHOO!!! Do you think I am finally on the road to recovery?

It was a packed O.R......my doc, an ENT nurse, an anesthesiologist, a nurse-anesthetist, a technician, even 2 reps from the Stryker company observing my doc operate on me using their machine. I couldn't have asked for better treatment - heated blankets while waiting for surgery and again as I was tucked in on the O.R table. And no, I didn't poop on the O.R. table.

So far, so good for going on that cruise in March. Let's hope the infection doesn't return now that it is finally all cleared out of my sinuses.

P.S. Joanna, I think the D is mostly because the antibiotic I'm on. I did great with the Cipro but now have had to be back on the azithromycin because I was getting some tendon tenderness from 16 weeks on the Cipro. And azithro gives me nausea and D, unfortunately. I can't wait until I no longer need antibiotics!

Fantastic! Thanks for the update, and for having such good news to report, (especially the part about not pooping on the O.R. table. LOL.)

Seriously, it's great to hear that you're feeling so well after the surgery.

Now that you mention them, I remember the warm blankets when I was on the O.R. table - they really provide a comforting feeling, don't it. It sort of makes you think they really care about you. LOL.

As well as the procedure went, that absolutely has to be the final chapter in that sinus infection's career.
