Update

Post by Mars »

Hi everyone, thought I would update you on my doctor visits - yep, more than one!

I decided to take matters into my own hands with my eyes since my next follow-up with an eye specialist isn't until February 25th and was told I would probably have to see an allergist also.

I went to the allergist who tested me for the normal allergins who informed me that I showed allergies to ragweed, dust mites and mold ONLY. Sensitivities are not picked up in this type of testing. He sent me on to a rhuematologist.

That appointment showed that I do not have the normal scientific autoimmune disorders. He also ordered x-rays of my hips and knees which showed ostio-artheritis. He also ordered a chest x-ray and various types of antibody bloodwork and will report to me by mail of the results.

He said that he felt my symptoms/problems were due to the colitis and that it might be that the diagnosis of allergy induced conjuctivitis, not responding to treatment may be accurate without other underlying factors. (sigh)

I guess I just keep on truckin' as the saying goes. No answers, just more aggrivation.

Oh, he also commented that I probably have IBS and colitis both. That was his only comment on the colitis.

Love,
Mars

Hmmmmmm. More questions - few answers.

Wonder why he thinks you have both IBS & MC?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
