My Silver Lining!! Amazing gf brownies!
It's the little things in life that make conditions like MC bearable. I have a great local grocery store with lots of gf options. I'd tried Kinnickinnik items and found them o.k. This weekend I bought a brownie mix... "Namaste Foods" Just add water, oil and eggs. The mix is free of wheat, glutten, soy, corn , casein, potato and nuts. It's wonderful! If you're a chocolate lover and need a taste of the normal life, google it and find it somewhere. You won't be disappointed!

Becky,
Have you tried Kinnikinnick's Vanilla Dipped Doughnuts? They're superb, IMO, if you want a sweet treat. I give 'em two thumbs up.
I notice that the health food store where I buy mine, is also carrying their chocolate doughnuts now, too, but I haven't tried them, yet. If you should happen to try them, please let us know what you think about 'em.
Thanks for the tip on the brownie mix.

Morning,
I have tried the Namaste brownies and they are very good. However, my health/whole food store (local group) handles GF brownies from a local bakery and they are heaven.
Tex, I have tried the Kinniikinnick chocolate donuts and they are fab but I do give them 5 to 7 seconds in the microwave for just a bit of softening.
Love, Maggie

Maggie,
Thanks for the thumbsup on the chocolate donuts, and the heating tip. I'm guessing that the heating time you listed is for donuts that are already defrosted. Or am I wrong?
I keep the vanilla dipped donuts frozen, and when I want to eat one, I just microwave it, (still frozen, of course), until the icing just barely starts to melt. In the oven I usually use, that takes about 65 seconds at 80 watts, (the reduced power gives it a chance to thaw out before it heats).
I know, that's the lazy way to do it, but it works for me. LOL.

I'm glad it hit the spot. The biggest complaint I have about them is that they're too good. I want to eat 'em every day, or even several times a day. LOL. Fortunately, they aren't that easy to find, and I suppose production is limited, so I'm able to keep myself from overdoing it.
The next time I get to the HFS where I buy them, I'm definitely going to pick up some of the chocolate ones, if they're available.

HI!
My favorite gf brownie mix is the GF Pantry one. I always take it to pot- lucks and everyone loves it. Kathy, I think you could probably find it at Wild Oats.
I also have a terrific recipe for gf brownies from scratch. Very easy, too.
It may already be in the recipe section of the board. If not, let me know.
Love,
Alice

Unfortunately, the donuts are full of sugar, at least the icing is. They also contain soy, which some of us can't tolerate.
