I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by sunny »

Thanks for all the well wishing on our trip to see kids!! We did have a great time with all the grands....our oldest daughter has 6.....only one without testosterone!! We went to their HIP HOP practice....my o my!! 3 hours in a freezing cold dance studio with deafening music....what a great time!! Actually, it was fun to watch the kids ages 16 down to 9 and the incredible work out they get!! Also saw old friends and had dinner with them. All in all, hard to control food intake. On the trip home, (8 hour trip) had the old horrific cramps.
Then yesterday, relapse time!! I was in the ROOM most of the morning. I would have been more discouraged but for this board and reading of all your trials, including Erin's disappointing days. I've been on the Entocort for a month as of tomorrow and really thought I was home free....can you say "DENIAL" ? sigh..... not sure what I ate that triggered the big D, there were many meals out and in. Our daughter and her hubbie are cyclists and eat a verrrrry high carb diet which I tried to avoid, but sometimes had a few forbidden items. Wondering about sugar's impact.... BUT.... Today is better....also the sun is shining!!! HOORAY!!

Hi Sunny,

Welcome back! I'm glad the visit was enjoyable. It's a shame that you returned home with a reaction, but hopefully it won't last long.

Concerning your mention of sugar - yes, for many of us, until out gut heals, sugar can be a real problem. It apparently activates the Leaky Gut Syndrome, (LGS), for some of us, which, of course, can trigger a reaction.

Good to hear you had a fun trip, except for the drive home and day after issues

I know what you mean, i have gotten so discouraged with my progress on Entocort but seeing the posts on this board definitely help!

Still not doing great on it and when i saw the Doc earlier this week he hinted towards something stronger, which i am not thrilled about but we shall see. Did more blood work and another procedure 3/4 and then he will decide his course of action. Until then staying on the Entocort, TRYING to watch what i eat, etc... It is SOO hard!!!
Diagnosed with MC on 1/8/2008 after 7 months of flare. 2nd colonoscopy and new diagnosis of UC on 3/11/2008.

Hi...we get to see our "bunch"....our daughter & her 6 kids and our son & his 4 kids about every 3-5 months....depending on schedules, and how I'm feeling. thanks for asking. They always say we leave too soon, so that's good. At least they aren't thinking , how much longer?
