Hi Becky,
After I backed up the database for this board, I restored the "DES Daughters" topic, and then moved it into the "Polls" forum. IOW, it's here:
http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=28
It seems to be working good as new, and I don't believe I lost a single bit of data. I even restored all the data that was originally linked to it in the search tables and the vote tables, so it should perform exactly as it did originally.
I'm sorry that you were inconvenienced, (unable to access it for a week), but in a way I'm kinda glad that it happened, because I learned a heck of a lot during the restoration process, and that experience could prove to be very valuable in the future, in the event of a server failure.
Best of all, I got rid of that pesky duplicate copy, that "coerced" me into deleting the topic in the first place. LOL. (I simply didn't restore the duplicate).

P S I resync'ed the forum count, but I still have one more thing to do - I need to go back into the database and manually increase the personal post count for each member who responded to that topic, one digit for each post that they wrote. That's not exactly a critical item, but we might as well get it right, while we're at it, so that everyone's post count is right on the money. I'll take care of that yet tonight, before I hang it up.
Paging Becky!

Oh my goodness Tex. You're amazing. Earlier I said you deserved a doctorate (I meant MD) but lets add one for Computer Science as well.
I sure do appreciate it. That bit of DES information is monumental for me as I'm pretty sure I am. My mom had miscarriages and lost preemies before giving birth to me in 1966. She had breast cancer, then died of ovarian cancer (I feel related since DES was a synthetic hormone). I amaziningly was able to retrieve the 40 year old medical records and will take them to my doc. That post is invaluable in watching me closer for cancers and my daughters. AND auto-immune issues! Me and my MC... my daughter has Vitilago. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm going to go get it and print it out.

Becky,
You're very welcome. I was sure that it was important enough to you that whatever time and effort was required to restore it would be well worth it.
I hope that all the information you've gathered will pay off, and it will help to insure that you and your daughters can enjoy long and healthy lives.
