Polly "creamy" clam chowder?

Post by Matthew »

Polly

You mentioned Creamy clam chowda in the post

What's your Silver Lining?

http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7091

I would enjoy making it in my kitchen. I would love to have the recipe. Or any other soup recipes.

Soup has been a major part of my recovery and a very easy way to stick with the Paleo diet without having to cook every minute.

Their is nothing as gratifing as cooking as close to the vine as possible and feeling so good.

Thanks

Your paleo pal and kitchen buddy-

Hi Matthew!

Your wish is my command......I have posted the recipe in the Recipe Forum. It figures a former Yankee (New Englander) like you would be interested in the clam "chowda" recipe! I think it's the closest we can come to New England clam chowder without the actual dairy. I hope you like it - let me know how it turns out. I think the same basic recipe could be used for a crab chowder - with Old Bay seasoning of course!

Love,

Polly

WOW! Thanks so much for the ideas!

Brings back nostalgia. LOL

Good chowda without all the cream and tons of butter. What more could I ask?

You have me remembering the thyme, bay leaf and Old Bay seasoning.

I would catch blue crabs off the town dock and bring them home and my mom and I would make blue crab chowda. With wheat flour to thicken and lots of butter and cream.

Well, times have changed but it doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a great base for a sea food chowda with sea scallops, haddock and shrimp. Crabs or canned clams and yes, maybe even some day fresh clams.

Have the missing ingredients on my grocery list for the weekend.

Will just have to drool till then.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Love

Matthew

P.S. So do you rember who it was that was cooking impaired?

Hi Matthew!

HAHAHAHAHAHA - thanks for reminding me about my old "cooking- impaired" comment. Without even realizing it, I think I have become somewhat of a cook! I experiment and have fun trying new things. Who woulda thought??????

Let me know how your chowda turns out. And thanks for the seafood chowda idea. Have you made anything new and yummy lately?

Love,

Polly

Morning,

I am going to make the chowda this weekend and recently I have been making something similar but a seafood chowder. Try using Talapia - I am amazed how well it holds up in soup.

Love, Maggie

Thanks so much for the Chowda recipe.

I give it five stars out of five on the MI scale.

Have you ever eaten something so good that you slow down eating it just to make it last longer. That's how good it was.

I don’t eat potatoes often. Will reserve them just for the chowder.

My best

Love

Matthew,

So happy to hear that you liked it! I know exactly what you mean about slowing down. Its amazingly rich for having no dairy, isn't it? I'm sure you have some leftovers - and soup is always better the next day!
Happy continued chowda eating!

Love,

Polly
