You Just never know

Post by annie oakley »

A few days ago I found out I was put on the list as an alternate for the new class of trainees we have. It's fun and we get off the phones. One of my co-workers in my cubicle (I thought was a good friend) was mad because they never pick her for lead or to help with the trainees. Sh is one of those people that is smart but will tell you in a hearbeat she knows it all. She is a hibitual complainer. She actually got mad about me being in lead and had to go and talk to the floor manager . So today they put her in lead for the section she was in and Another worker and I were working with the trainees.
Now you tell me Is that A good friend? I kept my cool and left it alone. I was so mad I was spitting nails to think a "friend " was sooooo jelous. I guess I will have to re evluate whom is really my friend. Had to vent. Love Oma

Oma,

Well, maybe there's such a thing as a jealous friend. LOL. I know a guy like that. He really doesn't seem to realize that there is anything wrong with him insisting on being first all the time. Otherwise he's a nice guy, and is more than willing to do his part, and then some, when it comes to work. Apparently people like that really don't realize that they are being selfish. Maybe it was the way they were raised.

Love,
Tex

Hey Oma....sorry that this happened with this other gal. I'm sorry to be so judgmental, BUT....she does not , repeat, NOT sound like a friend.
Looks like you just learned a valuable lesson about friendship!!

Hi Oma.....a similar thing just happened to my friend's daughter. Her daughter was promoted and her good friend was not. He was not a happy camper, but her performance record was better than his. Jealousy is not pleasant. Take care pal.....JJ

It's too bad your "friend" was so transparent and opportunistic. I feel for you.

It's been my experience that work friends aren't the same as real friends. Once you no longer work together, the friendship usually ends. I never consider people I work with to be true friends. Acquaintances, yes; friends, no.

Hi Oma

I totally agree with what Gloria has said very wise and true words! The difficult part is you still have to work with this person and make all efforts to be friendly and reasonably, so hard when what you believed to be a friend has so badly let you down. I really feel for you on this one and can relate it happening to myself on a few occasions and, it is so hurtful when you trusted this person.

Keep smiling Oma and enjoy the training and time off the phones, hope you have a great deal of fun.
