Post by Trace »

I was roaming around the boardsearly last week and found a post re: color of stool. Today I was very colorfully red! I KNOW I've read something about this somewhere...can anyone help me find what I'm looking for?

Thanks!

Hi Trace,

Is this the one you wanted?

Unless you have eating something with red dye, or beets, you may be bleeding. Hemorrhoids are very common with MC during a prolonged reaction, but if it continues, or becomes serious, you may need to see your doctor.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Also the color of the red can be important also if you're not eating red colored foods. A darker red is usally from farther up in the GI, a brighter red lower. So a bright red would most likely indicate hemroids (sp). Though red that is blood in the stool is pretty darn important to talk with the GI dr about no matter where it came from.

Yep, that was the link. Thanks.

It's not bright red...it's almost like it has tomato paste in it or something. I think it may be the strawberries I had in my cheerios Sunday. The water didn't turn red, so I don't think there's a hemmorroid (sp??) but there was a film.

Sorry about the graphic description. Thanks for your help!
