good book

Post by sunny »

Just finished ORBIT by John Nance. Had to stay up late last night to see how it ended. Story is of a man who wins a space ride and then the pilot is killed and he is in orbit...alone. Nothing is functioning on the craft and he can't communicate with anyone and they can't help him. However, the computer is working so he writes and pours out his heart thinking no one will read it till 50 or more years have passed. However, there is a feed to earth and the whole world is reading his thoughts in real time....his comments change the lives of many.
Don't know if we "do" book reports...but there ya go. :???:

That sounds pretty neat. I can only wonder what I would say in such a situation. I'm going to see if my library has it. Thanks for the info.

Sounds like a good book to read. Thanks for the heads up. :)

Also, I remember you saying that you were from the Portland/Salem area. What area specfically? I was born and raised in Salem. Now located in the Redmond, WA area near Seattle.
