Eye update
After an hour trip to the doctor
Various tests
NO NEW NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will NEVER get rid of the symptoms completely.........
I need to use lubricating drops as needed.............
Try to sleep with a mask at night...................
Because.............. are ya ready???????
I need surgery on both upper and lower eye lids (eye tucks) because I have floppy eye syndrom that keeps my eyes from closing properly when I sleep and therefore drying them out. They are not allowing for the natural lubrication to stay where it should in my eyes so they dry out and can cause the irriation and/or infections that I am getting.
The eye tucks will not cure the problem but will help keep the natural lubrication where it belongs and hopefully will help with the crusty and mucus discharge and the burning, dry eyes.
Doc says I will have to deal with this F-O-R-E-V-E-R I am so irritated!!!!! I'm going to wait on the doctor to write her findings to my local doctor and go back for another consult! The surgery would have me off of work for about a week. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
On top of the LONG day yesterday, I have been fighting a head/chest cold and/or virus that has me pretty whooped, since Friday. Been running to the pot and then have the normal hemmies - it's been a rough few days. Good thing I'm a happy sort of person or I'd be screaming on the floor about now!
Thanks for asking! Bet you wish you wouldn't have now that I've done nothing but complain!!! LOL
Love,
Mars

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
Mars,
That's a bummer, for sure, but some of the articles I've read about that issue, point out that a combination of a medical and surgical approach to managing FES is usually successful in improving the symptoms. It's probably a lot like MC - it's always there, waiting to flare, if you drop your guard, but as long as you faithfully follow your treatment program, you can control the symptoms.
I can't help but wonder if collagen deposits, due to MC, might not be the source of the problem, or at least a part of it.
I hope the virus is about over. That amounts to a lot of unnecessary punishment, on top of everything else.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Morning Mars,
My ex-boss had the FES surgery done on both eyes and it didn't improve here problem either. I really hoped that they would have had better pronosis for you but sorry they didn't.
Hope the cold is better too.
Love, Maggie
