Wow a new Board

Post by fifthofanickel »

I was surprised to find a new board after going on the old one.

I just popped on there to tell those of you who remember me, my CC is healed..I had a colonoscopy a few weeks ago, went for a followup & my GI guy told me my intestines are healed & the biopsies showed no CC..Oh happy day..6yrs of being GF paid off..I'm going to slowly start introducing Gluten back into my diet, hoping I can tolerate it, & have more variety in my diet. (You know how that is Polly)

So far I've had a few slices of the "bad" full of gluten white bread, & everything seems to be ok. I'm going very slowly w/this hoping for the best..He seems to think I have IBS as the big "D" appears w/stress..Also nausea..I really have to change my way of thinking w/all of this. lol..

He also told me I don't have Barretts esophagus. Apparantly when the biopsies were taken, the biopsy site healed in a wavy line & my b4 docs took it as Barretts. Sometimes you wonder, eh? Oh well, I just consider it good news, & that God led me to this GI Doc.

As far as my other health issues, the fibro, osteo is getting worse for me..And I also developed Plantar Fasciitis..(Very painful feet) Walking is out, esp. like shopping, anything involving walking distances..Went shopping yesterday, & I could have cried w/the pain. And because of med sensitivities, I can only take the occ. Tylenol arth. strength..

Buuuuuut, I am so grateful for the healing of the CC..I'm trying to focus on that. I didn't think there was any hope w/that. So don't give up you all. It can be donel...

I'm involved in crocheting prayer shawls..At least I can sit & do that..What a life!!! I've all but given up on losing any weight..Can't do anything on my feet..I do some exercises in bed b4 getting up..At least keep my joints mobile. (And I'm tooooooo old to do the exercising you all are probably thinking...lol :lol: )

Well, this is getting long, so will sign off..Even tho' I'm CC free, may I pop in once in awhile, maybe offer what I know in dealing w/all of that?

If my Avatar shows up, that's how I feel, grammy of a grand-daughter & another grandbaby expected in Sept..I don't think I look that way tho'.. :wink:

Hugs & love;
In good health;
Penny

Hi Penny,

I'm sure the wings and halo are the most appropriate part of the avatar.

I'm glad you are feeling better. Watch the gluten intake though for signs of increased achiness. Some of us have that as a primary symptom of gluten sensitivity...aches and pains. But gee, if you can get better, I want to know, because right now I want all those comfort food that have gluten (particularly craving crackers right now...and there are Ritz and Cheese-Its in the house that I'm having to avoid).

As for the plantar facitis (sp), did your doc give you stretches for it? My dad had a lot of problem with it several years ago, and the podiatrist gave him stretches for it. Doesn't seem to be an issue anymore. That one is definately treatable so you can get up and about with less discomfort.

Hi Penny,

Great to see you hear and happy with your clearance of CC. Sorry about the new ailments but do the exercises and hopefully a pain-free life will follow. Oh, to have a piece of real non-gluten pasty again - not for me though.

Love seeing you again, Maggie

Hi Katy;

Yes, I have been doing all the stretches, went to PT to learn more of them,& use the tennis ball to hit the tender points..This came on me last year about this time, & was really horrible.. Then seemed to go into remission for about 6-7mos. only to return..The rheumy says the lucky ones, it goes away forever & of course people like me, it seems to return at different times.

I had orthotics made & am in my New Balance shoes almost 24/7..I do take them off at nite & wear the cushist slippers I can find. But mostly spend time in the recliner w/my legs elevated..(just in the evening)

I keep hoping & praying for complete relief...So glad your Dad was one of the lucky ones.

I belong to a fibro board & there are others like me that lament to each other.. :???: Helps to vent & whine some..lol...

Have a great day, & good to hear from you maggie..We had the pilated woodpecker around this summer..We haven't seen him in years...

Love & hugs;
Penny
