Update on Jelous Employee

Post by annie oakley »

You all remember the fellow employee that was mad at every turn when I acomplished anything?? Well she got madder today. I got locked out of my systems and had to sit there while they tried to fugure out why the system locked me out>>>>And I am still locked out. She was On the phone and Hot! Then they gave someone next to her free time off the phone, as far as being locked out, They will have to fix it Monday. Also she got so mad when they picked me and two other people to help the training class get trained three weeks ago, Well the training class head sent a "Kudo" type letter to our boss's boss glorifying our helping and gave glowing praises. When she read that she was livid. I had no Idea The training manager would do that. oh well, It makes my file look better. But I am sorry she is miserable like that. And here Is the best part of my day>>>>>They were going to make us do another shift bid Monday and our new Site Manager asked the question " To what Purpose do we need to shift Bid?" Plus our managers asked the same question.
So there is NO SHIFT BID!!!!!!!!!! Yahoo!!!!! How many shift bids have ya'll gone thru with Me??? Pleanty Huh? Thanks for listening to me for the 1000th time. I had to share . WhooHooo!!! Love Oma

Hi Oma,

Wow! There's a name for someone like her - isn't there? I'm thinking it starts with a "B", and has five letters. LOL. That's sad, though, she obviously has some serious personality problems. I hope she can eventually find some peace within herself. That kind of unnecessary rage couldn't possibly be good for her general health.

Congrats on the "Kudos" letter, and on not having to worry about a shift bid, again.

Love,
Tex

Hey, Oma...
have you ever heard of Borderline Personality Disorder? You might Google that and see if the description matches this person.
Glad you got some recognition and no more shift bids. (altho I'm not sure what that is!! ;-}

Hello Oma,

Since I am new here I am unfamiliar with your previous posts, but wanted to say sorry that you are going through these difficulties with this lady. From the tone of your messge it sounds as if you have been dealing with her for a while now. This is taxing as we need employment, it is something that is a main focal point in our lives and then to have to deal with negative issues can just become frusterating. It sounds as if she does have some issues.

Congrats on your recognition and the letter!

Welcome Kel, I don't always catch all the new people that join our family, and yes she has some issues. I did google the peronality disorder and she fits. But I now know how to handle her and she shouldn't be an issues. If she is she will be the one moving her work station.

The kudos letter was something I earned and no one can take that away, Yeah! Anyway since I have gotton all my meds adjusted and all is going well, I am doing well.

I wopuld have responded earlier but was off the website due to a migraine headache, that is subsiding. Also went to the rodeo last night.

Barbara!!! Glad you are back girl Missed ya! Love Calamity Aka Herb Lady

Morning Oma,

Congrats on the great letter and I know they are hard to ignore at times - jealous co-workers - but just remember, you are the better person. Seems she has problems with everyone.

Love, Maggie

Thanks all>>>>>I did how ever confront her and asked her if there was a problem between us. And she asked me why I would ask that. I told her that her mood ran even with what ever I did right and was noticed for. Of course she side winded and lied out of it. And I told her I thought she was bigger than that.
I haven't had any more trouble from her. She needs an attitude adjustment now and then like all of us. But I still don't leave my back open to her at all Love Oma

Oma,

That is great that you confronted her. Often in a situation such as this when you confront someone they will either become more aggressive, or back off (thankfully as in your case). The fact that you confronted her did let her know that you has enough respect for yourself to stand up and speak when you feel uncomfortable; which, also should tell her if you did it once you will not hesitate to do it again if the need happens.

That’s great news that she took the hint and you have had no other problems with her. I would suggest in the future if something else does happen that the moment it happens you kindly (while gritting your teeth, lol) say something such as "This is what I was speaking and your disposition to me makes me feel uncomfortable-- is there something you need to speak with me about?" and that would put her back into her place again and also reinforce the fact that you will not tolerate it and make it less likely for her to continue doing it.

My husband is having this type of situation at work-- only it is with his boss and he feels insecure to go and speak with him about it. I have listened to him tell me many things and at times he gets high anxiety over it and I actually think his boss has bipolar disorder by the things he is telling me. I tried to tell him to neutrally talk to him about it and explain that he feels uncomfortable when he lashes out--- but he feels if he does it is only going to make it worse. I then tried telling him to go higher than his boss, but this just makes him feel uncomfortable and like he would be jeopardizing his job if it got back to him-- like his boss would get reprimanded-- which would then fall back on my husband. These situations are tough and I am glad you worked things out well

It's always fun to say...

"Sorry you're having such a bad day - sure hope tomorrow is better"

Of course - with the sweetest voice and smile on your face!

This approach sometimes works - it just depends on whether she gets the hint or looks right past it!

You're great Oma - it's great others notice it too!

Love,
Mars
