The very best book on meditation I have found is "Meditation Made Easy" by Loren Roche, PhD. It's common-sense, chock full of good ideas, and fun to read. And it's definitely applicable to busy, multitasking Americans - as opposed to monks in a Buddhist monastery.
I am impressed by your multiple talents. Wonderwoman that's what you are!

Thank you for the book title-- going to look it up and see if they have it at Borders. Was planning on making a trip out there tomorrow to look around. LOL, thank you about the compliment on the multiple talents, I do try my best. Maybe sometime I will post a poem or two that I have written on the site.

Decided to get up and get out of the house a little. Went and did some shopping with my brother, picked up copy of some blood work, went grocery shopping-- it was nice to just get out of the house a little. Did some cleaning (blah, lol)

I'd also recommend any of the books by Jon Kabat-Zinn, the books on tape can be found at most libraries and I found these great during my drive to and from work and other times where I had time to listen.
"Mindfulness for beginners" is one such book. Seems we (everyone in the world) spend a lot of time living in the past or the future and rarely take time to live in the now. Part of how I learned to live with this disease was to focus more on living in the now and focusing on your breath is a great way to start doing this.

Meditation and stretching was and is a large part of my recovery. Jon Kabat-Zinn was the founder of a stress reduction clinic at the university of Massachusetts. Two books by him that made a significant difference in my health are “Wherever You Go There You Are “ and “Full Catastrophe Living “ Full Catastrophe Living is a great look at how to mindfully face stress pain and illness in your self or a loved one. I highly recommend both books.
I am so thankful that Polly introduced me to Loren Roche’s work some time ago. His informal meditations that I incorporate into many moments of my day have been a large part of my recovery . He has an interesting web site-
