Oh my,,,,Ohio weather

Post by Mars »

Hi everyone!

I am home, safe and sound and don't plan on going out all weekend. We left work at 11:30 so that we could get home safe. Many businesses and schools were closing early too.

We have a MAJOR snow storm moving in (heck, it's here!) today and tomorrow. They are calling for blizzard conditions, blowing snow, high winds and up to a foot of snow!!!

Fellow Ohioans - how are you all doing??

Love,
Mars

Oma,

LOL. Yep, we Texans tend to complain about different weather events than they do in the Midwest. Texas weather can be unpleasant at times, but I think I would take it just about any day, over Midwest weather, at least during the winter - now summer might be another story.

Hey, did you get any snow this morning? We just had a light dusting here.

Love,
Tex

Mars I saw on TV the snow was coming down in Ohio. I am sick of the snow right now, but one thing is on those nasty snow days it is a good excuse to grab a cup of hot chocolate and cuddle on the couch with a good movie.

Glad you are safe at home and sorry to hear you are getting slammed with all of the snow.

I see that the snow is still continuing today. I hope everyone is safe and warm.

Hasn't much of the Midwest had record snowfall this winter, or is that just my imagination?

Tex

I don't know if they are records, just a typical winter like we used to have. I remember as a kid, we had snow like this every winter. Now, it seems to have slowed down.

Today, the snow is blowing, white-out conditions and level 2 driving conditions. It is beautiful but only if you don't have to go outside!!

I'm going to cook a stew and do some laundry today to help heat the house. Larry, however, has to go outside and work the snowblower or we won't be able to open the door!

Staying warm and cozy,
Mars

So far a foot and a half here with more on the way!!!
We haven't had this amount for a long time.
My daughter, who lives in Iowa, where the norm for snowfall is 17 inches, has had over 5 foot so far!!!

We have maybe 10 inches of snow and it's still coming down. Am attaching a picture of the back yard. One of the neighbors has a 4 wheeler and he put a plow on it and has been running up and down the street and the sidewalk. Most fun he's had all year. It is beautiful! I am going to make soup!

The snow is still coming down and the wind has kicked up so the blowing and drifting is causing white outs!!
We're thankful to have a neighbor that plows out our driveway... If we would have had to get out before he came thru, we would have never made it.
There's no way we could shovel it due to the size.
Just been kickin back and watching, take a guess??????????????

Thanks to the Ohioans for the snow report. Here in MD we got only rain, but it is really needed.

Saw the weather reports and pictures last night and said some places got 2 foot. We have really missed the bullet this year for snow and sorry you guys had to put up with such a heavy fall.

Winds here were 60 mph at times and as usual, hours without electric. Went to bed and pulled up the covers.

Love, Maggie
