As we already suspected, of course, foods with a relatively high glycemic index, including white bread, appear to be associated with an increased risk of type II diabetes, heart disease, and, (note this), gall stones, (among other things). Maybe this is why so many victims of MC, seem to have a relatively high risk of gallbladder problems - our heightened sensitivity to wheat, (gluten), amplifies the risk of developing gall stones. Anyway, this research report indicates a connection.

I wasn't aware of the gallbladder connection until I read the article, but I thought that was a rather interesting observation.
