Disgust and consternation turned into a true business inspiration for Peter Olfe of San Francisco after he visited an outrageously dirty public bathroom in the Bay Area.

"I thought, 'If I were someone who had to sit down, it would be just a nightmare!' " says Olfe, 42.

The encounter laid the groundwork for Mizpee.com , a new service that helps pedestrians in 18 U.S. and Canadian cities find nearby sanitary restrooms by entering the website into their cellphone's browser, then their city and current location.

Bathroom aficionados also can add toilet locations and rate them on the site.

Good idea!!! I don't know how many times i had to go someplace and it was gross....nothing worse than that!

Also, the Immodium website has a 'toilet finder' tool as well so you can plan trips!
