CT/MRI Results Back

Post by ErinD »

I Finally heard from my PCP on my test results from last week.

The CT Scan came back normal, said i must have moved or breathed funny when they took the X-Ray as nothing found in left lung on CT.

The MRI found an Enchondroma on my left iliac. This is a benign tumor of cartilage that is also called a 'bone island'. Nothing bad or that needs to be treated, just know that its there for future reference.

Also talked to my GI docs nurse yesterday. Since we are going away on vacation in two weeks he is not going to change my meds until we get back. he felt that since i am doing well on the 20mg of pred he will just keep it and then add/taper when we get home. She said i do have to be very careful in the sun though when we go as the pred will make me burn quickly and severly if not careful (and unfortunately with my fair irish skin i burn easily to begin with!) so i will have to keep an eye on that.

otherwise everything seems good again!
Diagnosed with MC on 1/8/2008 after 7 months of flare. 2nd colonoscopy and new diagnosis of UC on 3/11/2008.

That's great news. Now you can relax, and really enjoy your vacation.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
