update

Post by sunny »

Well, friends and neigbors...I've had 2 pretty good days in a row...out for Dr. apts and lab stuff....Dr. thinks I need another week on the vanco ....I asked the pharmacist what this was doing to my body( this will be 5 weeks on antibiotics) and she said it will definitely lower my immune system....but she said emphatically..."But you have to have this...there is no negotiation on whether you need this!" she was very empathetic.....nice that she knows me....HAH!! that's because i am always coming to see her.

Saw the rheumatologist and he said that my x-rays show that I have severe arthritis in neck and back and that is why I have pain in my neck and back....he is Korean and still learning how to "soften the blow!" I had to laugh when I told my DH...however he said I will need physical therapy and will OK for however long I want....oh boy!!

Lab visit was 10 vials of blood drawn....think i lost 5 pounds during that!! Endocrinologist is checking for B-12 levels and vit D levels and a bunch more tests which they have to send out so I won't hear for a week or so.

Cardiologist was a good visit...heart still strong in spite of 3 months of D and as far as my cardiac re-hab which i have missed for 3 months..."You do what you can do." When I teared up and said I am trying so hard to get better and do what I need to.....he said, Ooooh....and grabbed my hand and held on and was so personal with me, I was amazed. YOu don;t see that every day....so later when I saw the Korean doc who was so blase about my Dx, I wa still warmed.
What's nice is that my spirits are good....I know that many of you are praying for me and thinking of me as our friends and family and it is making a world of difference. And I am verrrrry grateful for all your kind words and encouragement.

Hi Sunny,

No you don't see that every day. It's nice to hear that some doctors care that much.

Also, it's great to see that you're continuing to improve, and your mood is so upbeat. I agree with your pharmacist - now that you've got the C. diff on the run, don't show it any mercy, or it may try to gain a toehold again.

Thanks for the update. Things are lookin' up.

Hi Sunny,

So happy that you are making progress and it is wonderful to have a doc that understands. I love my GP because she is so understanding and my cardiologist is right there with her.

Nice to see you sunny again.

Love, Maggie
