Nanna's Evil ways

Post by annie oakley »

I have decided to go to the family reunion as usual every first weekend in August, and after I am taking a week off and spending with son, DIL and grandsons. I'll leave the reunion with my son and drive back to Arizona with them. :shithitsthefan: He said he will fly me back home. Beau is now 3 and quit a handful :raspberry: So I have been gathering toys. A little something each week. I going to make my son pay for his raising. I shall be taking with me : Jacks and balls, small toy cars, 1,000 Army men, noah's ark and all the animals, a cap gun (still deciding on that one :duh: finger paints, a toy french horn and maybe a toy set of drums. I also have a recording of the Barney song (which I hate) that Bryan (my son) cannot stand either. But it would be worth it. And I am still gathering, after all it is a grandmother's right isn't it? :banghead: I will also take my ear plugs so I can sit there and watch Beau make alot of noise and look content. Isn't that evil? Any Idea's will be greatly appreciated. Love Evil Nanna Oma

Hi Oma!!
I have my 9 year old granddaughter for this weekend . I also have a 3 year old grandson.
Since Taylor is the oldest her first request was to bake cookies. So, we made cowboy cookies. I miixed and she took 2 spoons and put them on the cookie sheets. Those are all done. Next, her request was to paint together. I have finger paints & craft paints & brushes. I get plastic suncatchers at Pat Catan's craft store and they come with the paints for them. Both grandchildren like to make the suncatchers. I have a small plastic wiffle ball & bat set. Plastic golf clubs with plastic golf balls. I have all different sizes of balls for them to play outside with.
At the craft store they have items called foamies.. They come in all shapes and sizes and have selections for boys and girls. They really keep a child busy and entertained. You have to get tacky glue to use with the foamies. Coloring books & crayons. Books for a 3 year old. Etch & Sketch.
My grandson likes anything musical. Things that say the A B C's or count, or sing nursery rhymes.
If I think of any more suggestions, I'll let you know.

Love
Dee~~~~~~

I would suggest musical toys (like Dee said) - ABC's, music, lights that flash. Books for the appropriate age group, cars, trucks, plastic tools, blocks. Just go down the isle in the store for younger children/toddlers. You will find so many goodies!

I hope you enjoy your trip - even with ear plugs I can guess you will still hear the noise!

Love,
Mars

I bought my 2 year old nephew a drum that has electronics that do the ABC's when they bang on it....then sent him back home to Momma with him banging on it in her truck for the 5 hour trip back...guess I should have sent the ear plugs for her to use  ....I suggest drums, marshmallow guns ( always fun with the child who lives in a house with white carpeting ) and any kind of talking books........I love my neices and nephews, and supply them all with the things that those mean parents never will buy them.....and they all adore Aunt Carrie and Uncle Rick because of it....

Hugs,

Carrie

Morning Oma,

You had me laughing my head off reading your post. I suggest anything loud and musical - especially if he is not. Get's on the nerves more.

Love, Maggie
