Technical Problem
I keep getting a "program is not responding" when I am in my email account. Then I have to hit end program now. Started doing this yesterday.
Can anyone tell me what's going on and a way to fix the problem???
Thanks!!

Hi Alice.
Only on my 6th day of the EffexorXR, at the 37.5 mgs. dose. Haven't noticed any drastic improvement as of yet. Another 8 days and I'm supposed to up it to twice a day. Thinking this is one that takes a couple weeks to show something?????????
Thank for asking.
Love

Hi Dee,
Hmmmmm. I've never run into that problem before. (The "Program is not responding" message is common, of course, but I don't recall having it happen with an e-mail client). I'm guessing that you are referring to your regular e-mail client, (rather than the e-mail option on this discussion board). If that's correct, which e-mail client are you using. If you use IE, it's probably Outlook, or Outlook Express. Or do you use some other e-mail client, such as Thunderbird, or Eudora, or ??????
Usually, problems such as that are Windows operating system problems, and they will clear up automatically if you shut down the computer, and then re-boot it. If that doesn't do the job, let me know which e-mail client you're using, and I'll try to track down the likely cause. Also, it would be good to know if you're using Windows XP or Vista.
Love,
Tex

Sorry it took me a bit to get back on the computer.
I was busy making "our" cheese experiment.
After following the directions for the 1st recipe posted. I have to say that the initial product tastes pretttttty good.. BUT, I should have went with my cooking "radar" and not use 1 tablespoon of salt. So, I have it chilling and hopefully by tonight I'll see how it turned out. I made half like the Jack cheese & half I added the pimentos & paprika.
Now!!! On to the computer problem..
The problem is in my hotmail account. I can open personal emails, but when I get something from like a recipe site, I go to click on the link and I get that not responding bit and the end program now.
It's Internet Explorer/Outlook Express.

No problem, I'm in and out during the day, also, so it often takes me a while to respond. Hey, that's encouraging news on the "experiment". I figured you would probably be able to improve the recipes, if they show any promise, and it sounds like you've already found a way.
Regarding the computer problem, that message that you're receiving is generated by Windows Task Manager, which monitors programs that are running on your computer, and if one malfunctions, it gives you the option of shutting it down, rather than just locking down the computer, and presenting you with the infamous Windows "Blue Screen of Death", the way the older Windows operating systems so often did.
The question, of course, is why is it unable to complete the task. Unfortunately, as "smart" as computers may be, they are almost never smart enough to be able to tell us why they get hung on certain tasks. As you mentioned, it may be due to a corrupt file in Internet Explorer, that is preventing it from properly loading the links in the e-mails, (most likely, it's due to a conflict in one of the IE add ons) - I doubt that the problem is due to the e-mail client, itself. There are several possibilities, of course, but for starters, try this:
Click on the "Tools" option in the Menu Bar toward the top of the Internet Explorer page. (The Menu Bar is the toolbar with the selections "File", "Edit", "View", "History", "Bookmarks", "Tools", and "Help" in it). In the dropdown menu that opens, click on "Internet Options". That will open another window with a bunch of tabs at the top that say things like, "General", "Security", "Privacy", etc. Click on the "Security" tab. In the window that opens, you should see a long button that says "Reset all zones to default level". Click on that button, and then click on "OK", below it.
That may not resolve the problem, but it's much easier than the steps we will have to go through if that doesn't do it, so it's worth trying first. If that doesn't correct it, the problem is probably in one of your IE add ons, and we'll have to find the one that's causing the problem, and disable it. I can walk you through that procedure, but it will take a little time to find the one that's causing the problem. Try resetting the default security zone settings, (as described above), and then try it and let me know if the problem is still there.

Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Dee,
I don't believe that rebooting is necessary, but now that you mention it, it may be necessary to close the browser, (Internet Explorer), in order to activate the changes. You might try that, just in case it makes a difference.
Before we go to the next step, I have a question, "Did you install any new programs on your computer, or download any programs, or download any updates, or Internet Explorer add ons, etc., right before this problem first showed up?

Nope!!
I didn't do anything like that.
A couple minutes ago I went into manage add ons and disabled anything that had active x control, toolbars, browser helper objects.
I did a little research where others had that problem and just went with it.
Now, I'm "not' getting the program not responding and the end program now..
I just hope I didn't disable something that I shouldn't have..
I know!! I know!!! I should have been patient, which hasn't been within me for a while, and went with your cue....
Think I screwed something up???

If your computer is still working, you're still okay. LOL. You're working on the right area. The correct way to go about it, of course, is to disable them one at a time, and if the problem still exists, re-enable that one and disable the next, etc. It's never a good idea to disable any Microsoft programs or MS add ons, though, unless you really know what you're doing, because your computer may not boot again, after you shut it down, if certain features are disabled. Windows can be very unforgiving, sometimes.
If you have disabled any Microsoft add ons, I would go back in and enable them again, and see if everything still works correctly. After that, if you want, you can go back and re-enable the others, one at a time, until you find the one that is causing the problem. Some of your applications may not work correctly, without those add ons, but if you can do without them, obviously, it's not a big issue. As long as your computer will boot, you can always disable or enable those add ons at will, but be very, very careful when disabling Microsoft add ons, extensions, or whatever, (especially MS startup programs, but those are not on the add on list, of course). The problem is probably in one of the browser helper objects, but of course, it's possible that it could be in any of the items that you named.
You're turning into a geek. Congratulations!

Tex
P S Sorry I'm late with my response - I've been out checking some corn fields. Our corn is about knee high already, and some of it got caught in a frost last night, and it's turning black. Fortunately, the damage doesn't appear to be very extensive - mostly in a few low spots.

I know the problem is somewhere in the manage add ons, so, I'm going to do "EXACTLY" what you've instructed me to do..
I Promise!!!
I'll let you know which one is the bad guy!!!
