Update on the goings-on in my life............

Post by Mars »

Hi everyone - haven't been writing too many posts lately - just an answer here and there. Life has been so busy and full these last few months! I thought I would give a brief update on the changes that have occured....................

My eyes are acting up AGAIN - had to make an emergency appointment on Wednesday. My eyes were turning a nice shade of yellow - scared me since my mom had jaundice quite bad when she was sick. Seems my eyes are both infected AGAIN. I'm on Z-Pac and an antibiotic eye drop. I also have a Chalazion which is an infection of a meibomian gland located on the eyelid. Mine is inside the eye and looks somewhat like a stye. The doc says my chemistry is why I get them. LOL

I am scheduled for a tuck of my right upper and lower lid on May 21st! YIKE. I will have the surgery on Wednesday and be off of work until the followig Monday. I have to have the antestesia (sp) and IV and the whole works. He said that since my job doesn't include lifting and that I work in a clean environment, I can return then. He also said I'll have a nice pretty black eye though! Oh well, who am I trying to impress????

Remember me telling you that our agency was applying for the county designation for the Community Action agency????? Well, drum roll please................... WE GOT IT!!!!! Along with it came a promotion and a salary adjustment equaling about 6 grand, effective April 1!!!!!!!!!!!

Since receiving the designation - the official public notification is in the draft stage as of today but should be done by Monday - our agency has EXPLODED!!!!!!!!! There are phone calls asking us to collaborate with them bringing grants and experience and of course, money!!!!! It is sooooooo exciting to finally see our hard work pay off! We are over the moon!!!!!

Trisha and the family are well. Eddie is in Afghanistan - please keep them in your prayers. Baby Eddie is growing so big and he is such a happy baby.

Bryce is getting straight A's in class (1st grade) and has been in 3 schools this year alone, due to military moving. He is reading at 2nd grade level and can do a lot of his multipication tables in his head!!!!!!!!!! He is such an awesome kid.

Nichole and Jordan are just the same - they never change - Mother Mouth and Daughter Mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love them anyways! They just live their life, struggling but determined. Jordan kills me - she will call and say: "hi Nana - where's Papa?" She is absolutely her Papa's girl!

Larry is fine - working hard and trying to keep up with his dad and g'ma who is in a nursing home about 40 miles from us. He promised her that when she went, he would come visit her every other week. He has kept his word, all but the week we had 12 inches of snow! Good man, huh?

I guess that is all. Oh no - going on a diet to loose weight beginning today! Bought "good for us" food at the store = man that costs twice as much as junk food!!! Larry and I have really packed on the pounds this winter - THAT HAS GOT TO GO!!!! LOL

Guess that's about enough - oh - here is baby Eddie...........

BTW - Colitis is doing fine - only acts up when I eat my trigger foods. Feeling pretty good these days except for the eyes. It helps that Spring is here!!!!

Love to all,
Mars

Hi There Margie!
I wondered where the heck you've been.
Sorry, that you are having problems with your eyes again...
I know a few people that have had the eye surgery and they did fine and they say what an improvement.
Sounds like you've been busy as a beaver with work, etc...
Yippee!! A raise for you!!!!!
Loved the pics of your new grandson.. Just too adorable!!!

Love :bigbighug:

Hi Margie,

Sorry to hear that your eyes are acting up again. I hope the Z-Pak and eye drops clear up the immediate problem, and good luck with the surgery in May. I hope it does the trick.

Congratulations on the Community Action agency designation, and the promotion, of course. It sounds as though your agency is going to be plenty busy, for some time to come.

Thanks for the update.

Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Margie,

Baby is gorgeous and am so happy your colitis is under control and now that the eyes will be getting some more attention, hopefully that can also be put behind you.

Congrats on the promo, raise and designation for the workplace. Nice to see hard work get its rewards.

Take care and good luck to you and Larry on the new eating plan. I never call them a diet.

Love, Maggie

Mars,

Do you think that MC is compounding your eye problems in any way and have you discussed possibility with your doctor?

Hang in,

Aw, Geesh, Mars Bar!

I can't believe the eyes are still bothering you. Rotten luck.

Congrats on your promotion and increased salary $$$$$$. :manynanas:

I enjoyed the family update and loved the pics of Baby Eddie. Definitely Mr. Personality.

Good luck on the diet and the surgery. I know you'll do just fine.
