Hi Family, ok Remember the prarie dog, rodent pest? He has renavated his previous holes he abandoned last year. Came home to find he has eaten a portion of one of my wandering Jew plants, and some of the garlic I planted from seed last year. :yikes: We have tried to trap him, cover his hole up, shove rocks in the holes, dumped soapy water, I am at wits end her. :hissyfit: He is systematically destroying my plants.
If anyone has any Ideas please tell me. Nextstep is wet moth balls and seal the hole after. I am all for not hurting the wild life but he is fixin ti have a target on him soon. I have a brand new box of 20 ga. shells just itchin to be shot :hammerhead: I am open for suggestions fols. Love Oma

Hi Oma!
What are you putting in the trap?? Anything for him to eat????
From what I understand about them is that they are like chip munks, they like to eat "all" of the time.
Have you only seen one of them or is there more??

THEM DARN VARMITS!!!!!!!!

Hi Dee, Right now just like last year he is the only one. He has four holes dug. Mike closed them all in, problem is he digs them out in a matter of minutes. I told mike to cement the hole in. We put food in the trap>>>Wait, Mike just ran in and grabbed the shotgun, Oh heck. I heard him shoot ***Pause**** Well.....Fuzzy nuts is history. I hate to kill him, but I can't afford the plants he eats. We will wait and see if there are more but last year fuzzy nuts was alone then maybe he came alone this year.

Hi Oma

LOL I don't have any suggestions except to say my little rabbit Pip is doing exactly the same and eating all my plants and herbs. I can't shoot the little critter just got to love her even if my garden is looking very bare of plants right now

Oh Please don't get me wrong>>>>>I don't like to kill anything Even a bee. We never kill the rabbits. But Fuzzy Nuts was starting to dig extra holes where I walk every day and he was destructive. I made Mike take the baby skunk that wandered in the yard last year to play with the dogs out and relocate him. He wanted to shoot it, but I said no. He didn't even spray the dogs it was cute.
