Hi All,
A few weeks ago, I pointed out some reasons why I think that GMO foods will soon be ubiquitous, and resistance to their acceptance will eventually become a moot point. I'm not saying that this a good thing, but the current inventory shortages, and much higher prices of certain commodities, are rapidly accelerating that trend, and I think the handwriting is on the wall. Many processors are going to be forced to "throw in the towel", simply because they either cannot find adequate supplies of non-GMO commodities, or they can no longer afford to pay the price difference. Right or wrong, resistance becomes futile, when viable alternatives no longer exist.

Hunger is a strong motivator, and the food riots and demonstrations that are already occurring in many countries, are pretty strong indicators of future policies with regard to GMO acceptance by governments, and subsequently, by reluctant consumers. Hungry consumers will eventually outshout any remaining "idealists".

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I believe you are absolutely right about that. I think we would find it amazing what we will eat when we are truly hungry, and the most efficient way to provide food for the masses will win out in the end, no matter what that way might be.
