C-diff test is negative as in NADA!!!
Good news today as the test showed no c-diff!! It has been a week since last vanco dose so I am hoping my strategy of probiotics and Cholestid and Cholestrymine dosing is helping with any spores that may be lingering and hatching.
Wondering about the LC, tho.....half way expected those Sx to show up again as I have not yet finished the 2nd month of entocort. Anybody have any ideas?

Hi Sunny,
I'm confused - I thought that you had stopped taking the Entocort when you started the C. diff treatment. Or am I thinking of someone else? Often, it provides relief within a couple of weeks of treatment, but everyone is different, of course.
Also, a regimen of certain antibiotics will often halt D for a couple of weeks.
Another possibility is that you might have had the C. diff longer than you realize, and without it, you might have been asymptomatic, or your primary symptom might have been constipation.

Hi Sunny
Ah just so happy to read you are feeling better and happier, also the good news about the C Diff...........great hope everything is plain sailing from now on. I am just off to see my GI later on today so I am keeping my fingers crossed that we can get a management plan going.
Take care and so good once again to hear your news

Thanks for all the good wishes, everyone!!
Tex, yes, I had stopped the entocort during d-diff Tx, so that's why I have been expecting the LC symptoms to return. The GI doc called this am and said that she thinks that either the entocort intake was enuff to put me in remission, and/or the cholestid is firming up the stool...she siad that some patients with LC respond to the cholestid and is a good treatment otion for some. SO, perhaps the Entocort for 2 months did the trick....for now. She also advised that after the c-diff, my gut would be vrey sensitive for a while , which I had already read. ANd like you said, Tex, the antibiotics may have stoped the D for a few weeks. It has only bee one week that I am symptom free, so I guess I just need to wait and see and not worry that "the other shoe will drop..."

Yes, the Cholestid could be inducing the remission. Cholesterol-lowering meds seem to have that effect for some individuals. If I remember correctly, another member, grannyh, achieved remission in only one day, when she started taking Questran. Her posts about that experience are in the archives.
Whatever it is, we'll take remission any way we can get it, so congratulations, and lets hope it lasts forever.

Oops,
She took/takes Crestor. Sorry about that. The problem is, this board was originally started on May 24, 2005, and her post about her amazing response apparently predates that, so it must have been made on the old board.
If you search for the word "Crestor", with her as the author, you will find some posts that refer to her experience with it, but not the one that counts.
