New hobby

Post by sunny »

I have had such a fun weekend...found a new hobby....making topiaries shaped liked chickens out of boxwood plants...very fun...I cut out an article from Bettr Homes & Gardens a while back which showed how to shape the plant so I tried it on Saturday. Did a small chicken and then tried a larger gallon size one...it turned into a duck!! I was so surpprised that I could even do this...the duck is in a planter in the front yard nestled in a bed of red, white, and blue petunias....(she is a very patriotic duck, you see!) And the chicken is in a pot on the patio table...next I will try a burning bush plant so the chicken will turn red/orange in the fall. So tired at the end of a big day of yardwork I went to bed at 8 and slept till 7.....took it easy today.....

Hi Sunny,

Sounds like fun! Post some photos for us if you get the chance. We have a topiary garden not far from us and I am fascinated by it. One "scene" is a fox hunt - a fox in front, followed by dogs, followed by riders on horses! Happy sculpting!

Love,

Polly

Thats really neat, Sunny.
Yes, I'd love to see some pictures also.

Read in your other post that you are having problems again. I sure am sorry about that. Hope you'll be able to track down the cause soon and sure hope it isn't the Cdiff returning.

How creative you are!!!
I'd love to see pictures of them.
I make topiairies out of silk flowers using a clay flower pot, which I paint, a dowel, stryfoam balls, the silk flowers, hot glue gun, from the craft store. I do them for the 4 seasons.
I just sold my last one at a consignment shop.
Guess I better get busy making some more..

Love
