Hey Shirley,

The little guy showed a last Monday, he is a Jersey/Dexter bull calf, and is running his poor Momma to death already. On the chat, everyone was trying to help me come up with a cute English/Celtic name for him. Chumley, J.D. ( Jersey/Dexter) and Quinn are a few of the favorites right now...my other bull calf in that pen is named Keegan, so I was trying to come up with a K name for the new guy, but now luck yet....

Hugs,
C

Hi Carrie,

Congrats on the new calf. 2 suggestions for a "K" name. One of my Brit friends is named Kendall and I had a friend who named her son Kennett after her British uncle.

Thought one or the other might fit.

Love, Maggie

Aw, that's great!!

I just looked through some "K" names and came up with:
Kamran (successful) (Persian)
Kana (powerful) (Japanese)
Kanapima (one who is talked of) (Native American)
Kane (battle) (Irish)
Kaniel (God is my reed) (Hebrew)
Kayne (unknown) (American)

Well, that's just a few of them. No point getting too carried away. HaHa

Glad he is here and doing fine!!

Hi Carrie

How about Kellar, in Irish Gaelic it means 'Little companion'. LOL so could be Keegan and Kellar?

Thanks for all the great ideas.........we have a winner... Its QUINN...okay, I know it doesn't start with a K...but follow me on this...

I just came back from giving the calf his first halter breaking session. Had the service dog out with me ( of course ), separated him from Momma cow and proceeded to let him run around and play with the dog. He does the innocent " I'm just a little helpless calf act" until the dog walks up and licks his face, then when she turns to walk away, he head butts her...Soooo, we have been watching the new Eddie Izzard show on FX about Irish Travelers and the bad guy on the show is a red head named Quinn...who lures everyone into thinking he's all nice, them he nails them...Weirdo logic...but it's mine... :pigtail:

So the little red calf is now Quinn...........at least I know what to yell when he tries to head butt me next.....

Hugs,
Carrie

The week old little terror is out there head butting my 2 year old Dexter bull right now....I think naming him after a TV show bad guy was right on the mark....

Carrie,

Can you share a photo? I'd love to see Quinn. Maybe it wasn't mama delaying the birth - could have been Quinn himself calling the shots!

Love,

Polly
