Given all the talk about Cdiff here recently this caught my eye.

Yep, after reading that, I'm not exactly looking forward to my next visit to a clinic, hospital, or even my doctor, (as if I was looking forward to it before I read that article). LOL.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
LOL Probably about the same in either case that my dog looks forward to going to the vet. ;Dtex wrote:Yep, after reading that, I'm not exactly looking forward to my next visit to a clinic, hospital, or even my doctor, (as if I was looking forward to it before I read that article). LOL.

Yeah, it's pretty scary that even antibacterial soap won't touch this. Bleech, what's next, I've gotta boil my hands?

That is scarey. Makes one wonder how humans made it when we shook hands and never worried weather someone washed their hands or not Huh? And it looks like had washing is not enough. I keep sanitizers with at work. Love Oma
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance
This is why, you as a patient, have every right whether it be going to a doctor, clinic appt., ER, or the hospital, to request to whoever, TO WASH THEIR HANDS OR PUT ON GLOVES before touching anything near you or on you!!!!!!
I remember going to a follow up appt. with my sister with a GI . She had a bout with C-diff while in Flroida. The GI was talking about it being rampant in hospitals, etc.. because of doctors, nurses, not washing their hands. So, I looked at him before he touched my sister and asked, "Did you wash your hands since leaving the last examining room and touching the last patient???" He got off his little stool with wheels and went to the sink.... They need to practice what they preach!!!!!!!!!!

Funny, though in this case even drs washing their hands won't help. The article mentioned that the person showered before they came in but still transfered to the Drs hands as you can see in the image showing the culture.Dee wrote:This is why, you as a patient, have every right whether it be going to a doctor, clinic appt., ER, or the hospital, to request to whoever, TO WASH THEIR HANDS OR PUT ON GLOVES before touching anything near you or on you!!!!!!

Yeah, feeling much better. Thanks! Still a bit of gunk in there, but I'm almost done with it.
