The CONCERT!!! AWESOME

Post by barbaranoela »

Well I made it---I thought if I sit @ home in pain then I can surely get to see Kris in her last High School Concert!! 2 hours worth of the most dedicated kids I have ever watched--
I would not have missed this for the world--- this group and the performances were awesome--

These kids were so applauded that tears were just rolling down the cheeks of all there--
These kids are PERFORMERS in the truest sense of the word--
The Band Director was perfection---and the kids were not just kids tootin along--they were MUSICIANS performing--
I will high lite some of the most amazing performances that occured--
Brass Quintet--that played SHENANDOAH--- with just above a whisper U could hear the entire audience *humming* along
Then --they played SOMEWHERE and one of the gal seniors did the solo---was awesome--
There was alotta Jazz work done---alotta individual performances---and these kids are amazing--
Two of the boys---got scholarships for their musical talents--going for arraangements--their playing etc.--One of the guys used DOUBLE MALLETTS--in each hand and this just rocked
These 2 played the Xylephone like I never heard it done before---and did they just move with the beat--
Kristyn played the FLUTE---the GRAND PIANO---did the WIND CHIMES--and used malletts to play on a metal Xylephone--- if I am Xplaining this right cus I never saw this type of Xylephone--
I could go on and on but the BEST was---and If U all have seen or heard of the group that does STOMP!!!
Well out comes 4 metal trash cans and 3 softer covered things(dont know what they were) and this is what Kristyn and another guy used to add to the sound of STOMP!! Lemme tell U--again---sorry to repete---these kids were awesome---and U could see and feel the thrill that they were feeling as they played there last High School Concert--
This was terrific---my daughter Deb saw original STOMP when she was in in England---and here in the states---
As they played their last song----the lights went off and from the stage area--all U saw was a sparkling of glittered lights that the kids just let flow slowly back and forth--
The applause for the ending---was glorious and the kids just stood up so glowing and bowed --so professionally- to all of us there--

Twas a night to remember---and this is what was inserted in the program--

*Dearest now,O Soul, walk out with me--
Toward the unknown region=
All is a blank before us--
All waits undream'd of in that region==
That inacessible realm~~~~~

WALT WHITMAN

So true for all these kids venturing into another part of their lives--
I am so proud of Kristyn---and the entire school system that have guided these kids---and the remaining fact that the majority of them have groomed themselves to the right road!!!

Proud Grams---

WOW! That must have been quite an event.

No wonder you're proud.

Am I ever glad you got up and went to that concert. Sounds wonderful, even in the retelling.

It sounds like a truly outstanding performance and I'm so very glad you were there to see/hear it.

Tonight I am going to another of my Granddaughter's high school orchestra performances. She plays the Cello. I have been really awed by a couple of their performances also.

It is truly amazing how talented these kids are.
