Update and an early prediction...

Post by kimpatt »

Hi folks! Wanted to let you know that all of my symptoms have cleared up (diarrhea), and I'm *almost* to the point of constipation! I feel great right now...notice I said *almost* to the point of constipation...not quite! Just feels kind of normal. I'd like to say that it's due to my being really careful to find and eradicate all gluten, soy, corn & dairy from my diet, but I don't think that's the case....

My early prediction is that I'm pregnant, because that's the ONLY time I've ever been this symptom-free, regardless of diet. I have other indicators, too, but honestly, not running to the toilet for a couple of days was my first clue that *something* was different. I could be wrong...though if I am, this bit of feeling great for 2 weeks (last half of my menstrual cycle) points even more toward my MC being strongly hormonally influenced.

Just wanted to throw out that I'm feeling good (everyone likes good news, right? -- regardless of the cause!) and ask for some good vibes my way. I'll keep you posted....Thanks!

Kimberley,

Congratulations! That's sort of novel logic for making a prediction of that sort, but no one knows your body body better than you, so I'm betting you're right.

Thanks for the update, and yep, good news is always better than bad news. Good vibes on the way.

Just wanted to give a quick update...

 I'm not pregnant. AND, my symptoms have returned. This thing is soo hormonal for me, it seems. I have horrible nausea & heartburn today...haven't changed what I am eating one bit...it's the same as when I felt awesome during my first post....

Thanks for all of your responses...I'll keep you posted!

Kimberley,

Well, I'm sorry to read that news. I have to agree, your symptoms certainly do seem to be in sync with hormonal changes.

Your list of Meds/Supplements, caught my eye, (for the first time). Glutamine is a very controversial item for people with IBDs. There's a lot of hype on the internet, (both pro and con), surrounding it, but the bottom line, as far as people with digestive system issues are concerned, is that it is an item that we as a species were not evolved to ingest, (or digest). This discussion might be of interest to you:

http://www.glutenfreeforum.com/lofivers ... 17049.html

I especially don't like the long-term implications of the suggestion that glutamine supplements might alter the structure of the blood-brain barrier. That's serious stuff, if true.

Thanks for the update.

Well, I am sorry to hear that you aren't pregnant and that the old symptoms are back...that is so discouraging.
I read the link re: glutamine and was certainly glad Tex posted it...my daughter gave me a bottle that her doctor had recommended her little girl take for her GI problems but they were too big to chooke down, sounds like it is a good thing she couldn't take it and that I didn't start! I'm tossing them!
