Yep, that thing called "work" does tend to get in the way! Anxiously awaiting to hear about your trip!

Oops, thanks for reminding me. :)

Well after we got done talking I took some imodium, figured out the ferry schedule and when to leave to get there on time and took a long nap. Woke up around 6 or so, packed and left around 7:20. Got there in time for the ferry and got into camp at around 11:30 pm. All the while I wasn't feeling 100%, and thought about turning back a couple of times. :(

My wife seemed happy to see me. :) The whole weekend I didn't feel real well, but took my own car to different places that they went just in case I had to leave as I didn't want to interfere in thier plans. I was pretty much constipated the whole weekend, went a bit on Sunday and then had a tough time on Monday (the day we left for home).

I didn't feel so well the day we left. Small pencil thin stools, a few times before we left, took more imodium and I was constipated up until this morning again. I don't know if I got ill because the imodium from friday wore off or stress or what. But it didn't help any. :( Oh well, I survived without issue.

The weather was pretty nice the entire time, Saturday was a beautiful sunny day and Sunday was couldy but nice. Started to sprinkle in the evening and then rained all night and the next day. We were all pretty wet and tired the next day. I didn't get to sleep much that night or Friday night. Saturday night was the only night I slept ok.

We did a bit of hiking around the lake. Went fishing quite a bit, I didn't catch anything but we caught about 6 or so good sized trout the entire weekend. Good eating! The rest of the family and my wife's father went around the lake on a raft that had a motor. Seemed like they had a great time. Saw many bald eagles, fish jumping, deer, lots of birds, not a lot of mosiqitoes (sp). In fact a deer came into our camp, my older daughter fed it an apple out of her hand. Got a great photo of it. The eagles were amazing, they'd swoop down to the lake and come out with a trout in claws. Very cool, wish I had a video camera for that.

I'll see if I can post a few photos in the next week. :)

Later,
Mike

Mike, your trip sounds absolutely awesome! I envy your experience seeing all the wildlife!!

I'll be watching for your pictures!

It's great you were able to enjoy yourself - maybe not perfect but functional! That's all that matters sometimes!

Hi Mike,

Sounds like you were trying to "dodge" the whole week-end; I remember feeling that way; trying not to ruin the trip for everyone else while feeling a lot less than 100%. It can be very tiring to have fun with the family away from home when the "system" we call a body is malfaunctioning  At least you made your wife happy - I'm sure they all understand that you stretched far in order to make everyone happy. I really feel badly for you, Mike  But now that you are home again it is time to work on the diet again and try to figure out what it is that bothers your system. Let us know how we can help you!!

Congratulations on going on your trip, Mike. I know how much courage it takes to do something like that when you are feeling "iffy." Even if you weren't 100% you went and made other people happy. You should be happy, too, just for the fact that you did it.

I hope that you can work on your diet now and figure out what your triggers are. I wish it could happen overnight, but it doesn't. :hissyfit:

Lots of love,

Sally
