Hi Carrie, I was wondering about the cow that was preggers. If you posted the resukts earlier I guess I missed it or don't remember. I was ready to pull out My hair today....The rabbits have eaten all but a bare stem of my Morning Iris's. They ever touched them last year, but this year they had lunch and they were ready to bloom. They ate the buds as well.
We have more lizzards than any place ought to have. It's driving Buck Nuts cause he can't catch them. Harlarious to watch.
Love Oma

The new Dexter cow finally did pop out her kid last month, a healthy little red/dun bull calf who is half Irish Dexer and half Jersey. His name is Quinn and he is a sweetie, so much so, that is he continues to mature nicely, I will breed him to my other Dexter heifer when he grows up, before he makes his freezer field trip.

Now I'm gearing up for the next calf, the dun heifer is due with her first calf in October, and it will be the first one of of my pet bull that I raised, so I'm really excited to see what Cedar produces, hopefully he will pass on all of his wonderful looks and great personality. ( This bull is so tame that anyone can lead him around by his collar and when he is laying out in the pasture, I can walk up and sit on him) That is why he will not be making any freezer field trips.

Funny you mention rabbits, we are thinking of getting a pair of meat rabbits to breed, I have been doing a lot of reading about them, very interesting little critters. I never knew that they had breed of them that got up to 25 lbs...that's a lot of rabbit..

Hugs,
C

Hi Carrie>>>>We have CottonTail and Jack Rabbits here. It's ok about the flowers. I get alot of Enjoyment out of the rabbits too. I will re-Plant and put a cage over the plants. Rabbits are only doing what they know to do. I wouldn't harm a hare on thier heads (PUN PUN)
Glad about the baby Bull. I love farm animals. Once we get all the land fenced I'd like to have some donkeys. They keep Coyotes away. That's alot of the reason farmers have them around here.
RE: Tag Line>>>> It's gotton to the point where Everyday now is a struggle with this Fibro and arthritis, I'm not complaining because there is always someone worse off than me>>>It does tend to make you a little more humble and thankful for what you have. So That's where that came from.
I want to see pics of the New Bull. Love Oma

Thanks guys, I think he is a cutie, but maybe a bit biased. I hear you about looking at your burger funny. Last July we had to take my pet Dexter bull to the butcher because he lost his mind and kept going through fences to breed with a heifer that was not his. Some tough rancher I am, I cried when we took him in.... Because he was so attached to me that he had a fit when we walked away from him. Some of our cattle end up being "sellables or eatables", but even if they end up with someone else or in the freezer, while they are here, they are very spoiled...

Hugs,
C

Thanks Shirley, but it's just a flare right now. There are moments when it lets up. It could be worse. Love Oma
